SFA AGM where Dalkeith+Dunbar+Musselburgh+Sauchie memberships become "official" is Tuesday IIRC. Btw you didn't deploy a natty, somewhat cheesy, thread title .

HibeeJibee
28 minutes ago, Pumphyman said: How was i supposed to lol Anyway... this is of course the smallest cup in the East panoply - but it packs an impressively big punch. As well as giving a chance for some less favoured clubs to reach cup finals and win trophies, the victor can qualify for next season's Scottish Cup by adding the Cup-Winners' Shield. East teams have dominated that until now - battering their South opponent each time - with LTHV, Tynecastle, Camelon and Musselburgh taking full advantage. Now the extra challenge and attraction of a West conteder is added to the mix. It feels like an especially open Alex Jack Cup this season... So many clubs have become licensed that Crossgates and Inverkeithing are the only Premier outfits left; whilst a posse of newcomers has ridden into town in the shape of Bo'ness Athletic, Edinburgh College, Pumpherston and Whitburn . By my reckoning there are 27 entrants: Crossgates, Inverkeithing Arniston, Craigroyston, Edinburgh Utd, Kennoway, Kirkcaldy & Dysart, Leith, Ormiston, Rosyth, St Andrews, Thornton, Tweedmouth Edinburgh South, Glenrothes, Heriot-Watt Uni, Kinnoull, Lochgelly, Lochore, Luncarty, Newburgh, Oakley, Peebles Bo'ness Athletic, Edinburgh College, Pumpherston, Whitburn Equivalent cup down South is the Southern Alternate aka Alba Cup: only 7 entrants this season, of whom Nithsdale and Abbey Vale the likely cream. Abbey Vale, Creetown, Lochar, Lochmaben, Mid Annandale, Nithsdale, Upper Annandale Equivalent cup out West is the Strathclyde Demolition Cup: it has 18 entrants but most are 'lower-end' with only Bonnyton, Kilwinning and Rutherglen hailing from Premier. Bellshill, Bonnyton, BSC, Campbeltown, Drumchapel, Finnart, Forth, Glenvale, Harmony Row, Kilsyth Athletic, Kilwinning, Neilston, Port Glasgow, Royal Albert, Rutherglen, St Cadocs, St Peters, Vale of Clyde
FairWeatherFan
Things are no doubt going to change over the years. Anyone think it would be a good idea for a NCL cup winner to be added to the mix for the East, South & West Cup Winners' Shield for future editions. Since the Midlands and North Region are continuing under the Junior banner, it leaves the non-licenced NCL teams without a cup competition to qualify for the Scottish Cup.

LongTimeLurker
Seriously bizarre seeing Whitburn in this when most of their immediate neighbours in Conference X are doing the SJC, but not getting into a fankle over extra cup fixture dates probably makes sense if they see promotion as the most important thing to aim for this season. As long as they aren't drawn against clubs in the big Scottish Cup, I guess the non-AJC Conference X clubs will potentially be able to use AJC dates to play their SJC first and second round games other than Armadale and Bathgate who have a King Cup game on 7th August? Maybe they looked at their options and decided this gives them a better chance of a Scottish Cup place rather than having to win the Junior Cup?
HibeeJibee
First Round St Andrews United v Bo'ness Athletic Arniston Rangers v Edinburgh United Lochgelly Albert v Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts Craigroyston v Luncarty Rosyth v Glenrothes Oakley United v Pumpherston Leith Athletic v Lochore Welfare Heriot-Watt University v Thornton Hibs Edinburgh South v Ormiston Kinnoull v Newburgh Crossgates Primrose v Kirkcaldy & Dysart Second Round Kinnoull/Newburgh v Crossgates Primrose/Kirkcaldy & Dysart St Andrews United/Bo'ness Athletic v Oakley United/Pumpherston Lochgelly Albert/Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Peebles Rovers Tweedmouth Rangers v Heriot-Watt University/Thornton Hibs Kennoway Star Hearts v Edinburgh College Rosyth/Glenrothes v Leith Athletic/Lochore Welfare Whitburn v Edinburgh South/Ormiston Arniston Rangers/Edinburgh United v Craigroyston/Luncarty Interesting draw, with even-looking contests... notably St Andrews/Bo'ness/Oakley/Pumpherston... and some derbies. Crossgates, Inverkeithing and Whitburn may fancy their chances. Edinburgh College only 15 games from playing in Europe. HibeeJibee
Saturday 7th August 2021 Arniston Rangers v Edinburgh United Craigroyston v Luncarty Crossgates Primrose v Kirkcaldy & Dysart Edinburgh South v Ormiston Heriot-Watt University v Thornton Hibs Kinnoull v Newburgh Lochgelly Albert v Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts Lochore Welfare v Leith Athletic Oakley United v Pumpherston Rosyth v Glenrothes St Andrews United v Bo'ness Athletic Road to the 2025 Champions League Final in Munich starts tomorrow with Alex Jack Cup R1. Tie of the round is perhaps Crossgates v Kirkcaldy & Dysart, although Oakley v Pumpherston and Rosyth v Glenrothes also look particularly interesting. Strathclyde Demolition Cup R1 was on Wednesday with scorelines St Cadocs 4-4 Kilsyth Rangers (8-7p) and Rutherglen Glencairn 3-0 Forth Wanderers. With only 7 entrants the Southern Alba Cup presumably won't start until the end of next month at the earliest.

Newburgh, Lochgelly and St Andrews were left reaching for the smelling salts while there was a goal-fest at Lochore. Provided nobody has committed any misdemeanours this sets-up Last 16 due Saturday 28th August: Kinnoull v Crossgates Primrose Bo'ness Athletic v Oakley United Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Peebles Rovers Tweedmouth Rangers v Thornton Hibs Kennoway Star Hearts v Edinburgh College Glenrothes v Leith Athletic Whitburn v Edinburgh South Edinburgh United v Luncarty
