HibeeJibee
Down the decades most Scottish league clubs have celebrated their centenary - and often marked them with special games and occasions against many glamorous (or not so glamorous) opponents. Some clubs like Berwick, Celtic and Queen's Park even had multiple such matches. However when trying to put a list together a lot of clubs don't look to feature. Were any centenary matches arranged by Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Alloa, Ayr United, Clyde, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Dundee, East Stirlingshire, Falkirk, Greenock Morton, Hamilton, Partick, Queen of the South, Raith, St Johnstone, Stenhousemuir or Stranraer? Are any other matches missing from this list? Aberdeen v Liverpool on Tue 5 Aug 2003 Airdrieonians ?? (1978) Albion Rovers ?? (1982) Alloa Athletic ?? HibeeJibee
Interesting the Supercup game Rangers v Ajax was billed as their centenary match. Indeed the programme doesn't even call it the Supercup:

realmadrid
No match for St Johnstone as the centenary fell at the period when we were in decline . I don't think the centenary meal happened until 1987 after the Brown take over.
Ranaldo Bairn
Falkirk celebrated our centenary by being awful and getting relegated to the third tier in 1977. Gosh, imagine that happening. Crazy stuff.

I wonder what happened to him?

"New pence" was still on coins right up to the 80s, I seem to remember, and you could still use the pre-decimalisation 2 shilling coin as a 10p til around then.

That is true but it would be harsh not to count it for what it was... Fairs Cup wasn't under UEFA auspices until 1971; first edition of the Cup-Winners' Cup wasn't organised by UEFA; even R1 of inaugural European Cup was organised by L'Equipe magazine (including who actually played who). Incidentally the initial Supercup trophy really was "super"... sized certainly:

I read recently that at the Ibrox Disaster fundraiser in late January 1971... Scotland v Rangers & Celtic XI... it was decided to have a shootout if tied as they had only just been invented globally and most fans had never seen pens. Apparently many in the crowd were audibly disappointed when Peter Lorimer scored a late winner!
