TIER 6 PLAYOFF - NORTH - GAME 2 - 04/05/22

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 2  THURSO 0

A very comfortable win as promotion to the Highland League is secured at Whitton Park.

From the first whistle to last Broughty were in total control and should really have scored a lot more than the 2 against a Thurso side that failed to offer  any real resistance.

A goal early on and a goal right at the end would prove to be sufficient to secure the win needed to start a promotion celebration parties amongst all involved with Broughty Athletic.

Bring on the Highland League next season.

                   SEASON 2022/23

              FRIENDLY 1 - 25/06/22

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 3  EAST STIRLING 2

The first friendly of pre season ends in a very entertaining affair against Lowland League visitors East Stirling.

The visitors for the first half hour were certainly the better side and could have added to their very early lead, however after the Broughty came into the game and confidence levels rose but the went in behind at the break.

The second half was fantastic a far more confident Broughty had a right go and created numerous chances although the visitors continued to look menacing on the break.

Broughty would deservedly level only to fall behind with 6 minutes left, that would be cancelled out with an equaliser a minute later and an injury time winner would give Broughty a very entertaining and deserved victory.

FRIENDLY 2 - 28/06/22

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 5  BROUGHTY UNITED 0

A straight forward win over amateurs Broughty United here at Whitton Park.

The home side created plenty of chances and the scoreline void easily far bigger than it was.

A comfortable first half saw Athletic lead by a couple of goals and a focused second half saw three more added.

In the end straightforward win for Broughty Athletic.

Next is an away friendly at North Region Dyce in what will be a tougher 90 minutes.

FRIENDLY 3 - 02/07/22

DYCE 0  BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 1

This was a comfortable away win at a decent Dyce side and a very good performance was turned in.

Broughty had a number of chances and defended well when required in the second half although young keeper Craig Burns had 2 very good saves to protect the lead.

Broughty thought they had a 2nd goal late on but that was ruled out for offside.

In the end a very good away win for Broughty.

Next up is another away friendly this time at WoS Division 4 side Harthill.

🚨🚨 TRANSFER NEWS 🚨🚨

One outgoing transfer to report on is the free transfer of 25 year old full back Kane Hull to EoS Division 1 Conference B side Preston Athletic.

Having made only a limited number of appearances and the chances of regular game time this game time low it was better for him to move on to a club where more regular playing time is likely.

Kane Hull also had offers from Bathgate Thistle and BSC Glasgow but chose to turn them down.

FRIENDLY 4 - 06/07/22

HARTHILL 0  BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 7

In the end a very comfortably win but in a crazy game at WoS Division 4 side Harthill.

The first 45 minutes was a drab affair probably shaded by Broughty but one that finished goalless.

The second after stern half time words saw Broughty come to life and totally demolish Harthill in an unbelievable 2nd half performance.

Next is a home Saturday friendly against EoS Premier Division side Tranent.
