Distant Doonhamer
Owen Moxon in the league two team of the season. League Two team of the season Lawrence Vigoroux (Leyton Orient), Junior Tchamadeu (Colchester United), Iboue Touray (Salford City), Carl Piergianni (Stevenage), Omar Beckles (Leyton Orient), Elliot Watt (Salford City), Owen Moxon (Carlisle United), Idris El Mizouni (Leyton Orient), Sam Hoskins (Northampton Town), Andy Cook (Bradford City), Mitch Pinnock (Northampton Town
Distant Doonhamer
Sadly Stevenage won their game in hand tonight so automatic promotion looking much less likely. Mansfield losing is a plus with regard to play off spots though.
orfc
Swindon should have been kicked out the league years ago for their financial irregularities. A dismal failure of a place, famous only for a roundabout and Melinda Messenger getting her chebs out. Not that I'm bitter.

orfc
It's the hope that kills you Got it back to 2-2, then almost immediately go behind again Full Time Barring a 8-goal change in goal difference with Mansfield - we're in the playoffs Edited April 29, 2023 by orfc

Still, an improvement on last season...
Distant Doonhamer
Disappointing result but looking a good bet for the play offs. 3 points ahead of Mansfield who are in 8th and Carlisle also have an 8 goal advantage in terms of goal difference. Mellish red carded for violent contact today and will presumably get a 3 match ban so will miss the final league game at Sutton next week and the both legs of the first play off match assuming Carlisle make that. Big loss if so. Edit to add Paul Simpson’s post match interview suggests there might be grounds to appeal the Mellish red card. Simpson clearly furious that the appeal on the Mellish red card was unsuccessful. https://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/news/2023/may/manager-its-massively-disappointing/ Edited May 6, 2023 by Distant Doonhamer
Distant Doonhamer
I’m watching the Sutton Carlisle game now. I get that the commentary will be biased favouring Carlisle but deary me it’s dreadful stuff Edited May 8, 2023 by Distant Doonhamer
Distant Doonhamer
Sutton leading 1-0 at HT. Apart from an effort by Dennis at a free kick that hit the bar Carlisle have offered nothing and could easily be further behind. A dreadful performance so far. Mansfield winning so level on points as things stand but 6 goals difference in terms of GD in Carlisle's favour. A couple more goals for Sutton and Mansfield and things could get nervy.

Better 2nd half showing but still unconvincing. Equaliser late on was a fortuitous own goal. Bradford drew and Salford lost so Carlisle finish 5th. Will play Bradford in the play off semi final. First leg away, 2nd leg at Brunton Park. Delighted to make the play offs but not in great form going into them. 12 points from last 11 games.
orfc
Yeh, glad to have dodged Stockport over 2 legs Mansfield missed out on the playoffs by 1 goal. Though given they spanked us 4-0 in one half that's not a bad thing either.

DG.Roma
Frustrating. Could've (should've?) had a pen. Screamer shot off the bar. Concede from Mellish's position, where was Whelan? Had the better of the game towards the end of the half but have to do better in the final third. Whelan has to hit the target, Patrick has to get the ball across. Pleasing to see Moxon playing so well, again. Ref's a joke. Shocker to miss that corner off Stubbs, and to give Carlisle the freekick for McCalmont's dive. Long way to go though, and plenty of positive signs
philpy
Get Patrick off and Dennis on. Failing that, swap garner for Dennis. Garner on a yellow, Bradford will know that garner will get riled if they niggle away at him. Can't risk him getting a second yellow.
DG.Roma
Garner and Dennis together doesn't work, too similar. Agree with your point though. Dennis for Garner, Edmonson or Gibson for Patrick. Maybe not at Half Time, but after not too long. Ideally it'd be JK Gordon coming on, but he's still suspended for his next to nothing shrug off against Barrow. Robinson will probably come of for Armer at somepoint too, depending on Senior's fitness.
DG.Roma
Really should've won that game. Too many missed chances and bad decision making in the box. Whelan was unlucky with the header that came off the back of Crichlow's head, but Edmonson really has to score his big chance. On the plus side, it's only 1 goal. Play like that again, with an end product, and it's a home win on Saturday. Also, from a Scottish perspective. Goal and assist from Scotsmen, best player in the first half is a product of Annan Athletic, best player in the 2nd half was a Scottish International up to U19s - some great balls in from Jack Armer.
