I'm sure both should be favourites over the course of the season. The notion that there's just going to breeze past people seems a strange one though. About half the teams Whitburn will have had an experience against in the past from the South/Premier Junior days. The old EoSFL/Edinburgh South aren't all cricket score walk overs. Which they'll know with Ormiston beating them 1-4 in the Alex Jack Cup. While they obviously have a very good team to have won Conference X. I'm maybe missing something in that they don't have some massive investment behind them and as a club spent most of the 2010s bouncing around the South Division with clubs of the similar ilk as the EoS Second Division. Syngenta i'm expecting to do better and my pick for the title since they seem to have money behind them for this level. Even when they were in the Juniors. Now that they've gotten their ground issues sorted it should be a clear shot to the Premier as long as they maintain their level of investment.
Dav nan Gael
Promotion to the EoSFL 1st Division for the downdie army is all that matters next season........ If roles are reversed and Syngenta win the 2nd Division then fair play to them,as long as we are in one of the Promotion spots behind them. Thornton,St.Andrews and Heriot Watt may have something to say about all I have wrote above however.
Pyramidic
Are we now at Three Up and Three down under normal circumstances between: Premier Division - First Division First Division - Second Division as predicted? But what was agreed at the AGM for the Second Division - Third Division Three Up and Five Down? or Two Up and Four Down?

As far as I know it wasn’t discussed at the AGM.

A lot of the clubs that will be circling the Second Division relegation plughole next season have been in conferences they have had no hope of competing in for years, and being in a division they can actually win will no doubt come as a blessed relief for them. Restricting ventilation just means that the West Lothian clubs hoover up the promotion positions for the rest of the decade instead.
FairWeatherFan
Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts rebranded to just the Swifts FC. Is there a reason they never made it official? Hawick dropped the United, Ormiston returned the Primrose.

Hawick dropped the United, Ormiston returned the Primrose. They did it at the start of last season when they moved to Dalgety Bay to play their games. Their Facebook, Twitter, website, badge etc has been Swifts FC all last season.

I'm wondering why they've never made it official with the EoSFL/FA.
FairWeatherFan
Got bored and had a look at how Second Division sides did amongst themselves in Conference last season. Dalkeith and Easthouses being the two surprises considering their point totals for the season.
Dev
Maybe not the best thread for this but here goes. Looking back to 2016-17, and looking forward to see what changes have happened, there were 11 clubs in this finishing order: 1: Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale 2: Leith Athletic 3: Tynecastle 4: Heriot-Watt University 5: Coldstream 6: University of Stirling EOS 7: Eyemouth United 8: Peebles Rovers 9: Ormiston 10: Tweedmouth Rangers 11: Burntisland Shipyard. Next season sees 60 clubs in four Divisions. Sadly Eyemouth United are no longer in the league but the other ten remain. The additional 50 clubs have come mainly from the former East Juniors (43) with two of these recent joiners of that league so "virtual" newcomers to senior football. There have also been 4 down from the Lowland league and a further 3 up from Amateur/Youth backgrounds. Of the original 11 East of Scotland League clubs none have been promoted to the Lowland League. Two are still in the top Division and three are in next season's First Division with the remainder in the new Division Two. A fair spread through the League. Some new clubs haven't stayed long. 2017-18 champions Kelty Hearts are now in SPFL One. 2019-20 champions Bo'ness United are mid-table in the Lowland League. Tranent Juniors start their Lowland life next term. No doubt everyone wishes them good fortune. By next season most clubs in the League will have been clubs which have made the transition from previously being in Juniors football. A huge change in itself. Gone from 11 clubs in 2016-17 to 60 next season. 26 clubs in next season's Scottish Cup. Approaching around 38 (?) clubs with Flood-lights by the end of next season. In the region of 36 clubs with teams in the Lowland League Under 20's Development Conference Divisions.

Surely you can see how "The Swifts" would just be like naming yourself Rose, Thistle etc without any geographical reference? 55 minutes ago, highlandcowden said: anyone know when fixtures are out for this?
