The players adored him too. John Potter was the worst manager in our history. Easily.
Kelheart
If JP is appointed manager I’m sure he will get a fair crack at it here and all the support we can all give , he will know a good few of the players as well so that’s a good start He maybe didn’t have the best time in the pars hot seat for the short time he was there but it was about 6-7 year ago or something and has been plodding away learning and coaching since, not a big name or one of the usual suspects and if he does well might even stay Mon Kelty

GordieBoy80
Salvage? He took over us one point behind Morton, and five points clear of fifth place. He won 5 games out of 17, it wasn't so much that he didn't salvage our season, he absolutely set fire to it. Our worst ever manager and I'm including Peter Grant in that discussion. John Potter was the worst manager in our history. Easily.John Potter worse than the only manager in the club's entire history to never win a league game?Behave yersels.
Shandon Par
Potter didn’t scupper the next manager by signing a team of duds on long contracts. He then became part of the following season’s coaching team where we skooshed the league (pretty unusual in football to see a sacked manage stay at the club as an assistant to his repayment?). He won 5 games out of 20 while we were in League One and led us to 7th place. We'd have been in danger of League 2 had he been in charge all year. His reign included a 5-1 loss at Stranraer, a 4-0 home defeat to Morton, 3-0 reverse at Brechin and a 3-1 pasting by Forfar. All in all, some of the worst performances I've seen in a quarter of a century following the club. Potter is local and apparently a really good guy but he was the fucking dirt worst as Dunfermline manager.

GordieBoy80
Absolutely. Even Peter Grant skelped part time sides. Two unconvincing wins against a covid riddled Dumbarton side and a really poor Stenhousemuir team are hardly skelpings...A good part time side would have made us their bitches, and handed us our worst result against them since 1992... Oh wait Arbroath did.I don't recall Grant skelping Civil Service Strollers or Spartans.

KD1711
Looks a shocker of an appointment on paper, could be hope for the rest of the division with McPake at Dunfermline and Potter at Kelty.
