Good to see that Dickenson and Church were in the reserves starting line-up yesterday.  Hopefully both came through the game unscathed and aren't too far away from returning to first team action.

Dickenson scored, but we lost 1-3.

Queen of the South: Jay Hogarth, Euan Ross, Daniel Church, Ben Johnstone, Niall Rogerson, Benjamin Luissint, Josh Walker, Kyle Doherty, Harry McLinden, Brennan Dickenson, Pharrell Willis.
Subs: Mark Thomson, Joe Thomson, Cameron Edgar, Matt Hall, Lennon Kerr, Alex O’Hagan, Stevie Harkness, Rhilay Walls.

I assume/hope it was a strong QP reserve side given the strength of our lineup...

Not particularly, other than the fact that QP have a decent set up and won the Reserves League last season. A few of their players yesterday have been on the bench for the first team and had a few minutes here and there, but no first teamers. Attacking midfielder Seb Drozd for example, but he only played the first half.

Dickenson & Church also only played the first half. Dickenson up front with McLinden at first, until McLinden went off injured, then with Walker, who had been playing behind the front two. Dickenson had a couple of good shots but nothing clear cut. His goal was a header from a corner, right on half time.

QoS started the better team and Willis looked really dangerous, but QP figured him out and nullified him. In contrast QP had a tricky left winger, Josiah Sowa, who got more dangerous as the game went on and scored a screamer. Despite being the better team for most of the first half, QoS couldn't score. Sound familiar? QP scored on their first attack, Dickenson's goal was an equaliser. QP's 2nd and 3rd came after a few more subs had been made and they were well on top by then.
