Tony Wonder
Really looking forward to this. Pre season has been a bit of a strange one and we aren't exactly flying going into it, but I still think we're shaping up pretty well squad wise. Kent and Nieuwenhof look good additions and I'm hopeful Boyce and Baningime will be available for the bench at least which gives us a few options. We are a bit light up top as well due to injuries, but Tagawa is expected to be in the door and available, I assume for the bench but we might just chuck him in and figure he can't be worse than Forrest. Everyone expects us to win given St Johnstone's League Cup woes but our away record is pish so will be taking that with a pinch of salt and it wouldn't be the first time a team has bounced back from a shocking performance with a much improved one, especially as they'll make lots of changes. Any kind of win will do, can't beat starting the season with 3 points regardless of how they come.

Trackdaybob
I've a deep sense of foreboding about this. Thankfully, I'll be distracted by Moto GP at Silverstone.
DC92
I'm cautiously optimistic about our transfer business so far this summer, but it doesn't really feel like we're ready to hit the ground running. Pre-season results don't look great, we've got a few important players missing, and the new signings are barely in the door. St Johnstone have just suffered abject humiliation, but the reaction to that can go either way.
RandomGuy.
Out: Callum Booth, Cammy MacPherson, Ali Crawford, Chris Kane, Nicky Clark Doubts: James Brown Injured but should make it: Drey Wright, Graham Carey Not a clue how we line up if Wright and Carey are out. Other issuses is Brown is our only specialised right back and i think we'll play a back four regardless. That means either Wright goes in there and you have problems defensively, or Ryan McGowan goes there and our central midfield is soft. And if Wright and Carey both miss out our only winger is an 18yo who was an impact sub for East Fife last season.
Center half
I am preparing for the worst humiliation, defeat I have seen ! If the Jambos cant put 10 past this shower it will be a poor performance! I will be there though through thick and thin!
shibbydoo
Huge win for Hearts. I've put the largest bet I've ever staked in a Hearts win. If Saints are going down then I'm taking the money from the misery.

Mr. X
We don't do winning away, and we haven't looked like scoring many goals in preseason. I definitely wouldn't be betting on a Hearts win despite the form of St Johnstone.

Center half
We are having a closed door game today on the Astro turf (9.30-10.30) to try and gain some confidence i believe. Gordon especially needs to feel he can dominate in a game and be a bit faster than the opposition.
Tony Wonder
If Tagawa is available he looks lightning quick and quite strong. I'd have him right in and up against Gordon due to the low bout of confidence he seems to be experiencing. Shankland just in behind. Just a shame Ginnelly is away for this one.
The Saintee
Anything less than double figures and Hearts should be ashamed.

Stylish Kid
Hearts' away form is terrible. It's doubly-terrible at McDairmed (I think our league form at Ibrox over the last decade has been better!!!). Team feels like an unknown quantity as pre season has mainly been behind doors, but almost exactly the same squad as last year. All to play for I think
Radford
To achieve anything, you need to first and foremost be hard to beat. Would playing a back three help us in that regard? We'd have had an extra man in the box for the Stirling opener and, surely, wouldn't have parted like the Red Sea for the second. So there is a case there, especially regards the first goal. The second was just so bad that it's hard to even analyse. But we didn't give much away against Ayr or Stenhousemuir despite the defeats and it doesn't matter what system you play if you can't defend set pieces or do the basics like closing down and passing the ball. The Stenhousemuir goal and the first two on Saturday, despite what was said above, come from just giving the ball away in terrible areas. Whatever shape we play, it's not going to make a blind bit of difference if we don't get the fundamentals right. We know from Davidson's time in charge that having that extra defender blunts you going forward if none of the centre backs are prepared to step out but Hearts are a good team and we won't be expected to have a lot of possession anyway. Can we transition quickly when we do win the ball with the players we have? Possibly I guess. So, despite being sick of the sight of a back three, I'd relent and accept it could be our best option for this weekend, although worry where Carey fits in. Because even if the prospect of a back three isn't terrifying, that fucking 5-2-3 abomination is. Mitov McClelland - Gordon - Considine Wright - McGowan - Phillips - Gallacher Carey Jephcott - May

Hannibal Smith
This has got a draw written all over it. St Johnstone are struggling and Hearts are brutal away from home. Should be a cracker
