The Lions v The Dons (Sat 5th Aug)

Think Rubevic and Devlin lucky not to see second yellows, other than the BIG BAD LIVI ARE BACK

We looked the better team but a draw just about right IMO. Duk was suitably handled and kept quiet. Another Martindale masterclass

Awful game of football. Calling it football is generous.

Our defence was more solid than I thought it would be. Ruby won everything in the air. Aside from that, not much to write home about. I’m not sure why we didn’t get it on the deck as the they were dealing with everything we threw at them. We’re crying out for an attacking midfielder.

I asked for a curry pie. Bit into it and it was a scotch pie. Summed up the day.

Didn't have any expectations of us getting anything when i saw Guthrie and Nouble up front, it didn't work last season in the St Mirren & Motherwell games, and was expecting the same result.

By f**k what a difference, Guthrie put in one hell of a shift, chasing the ball and challenging everything, but the main difference was our overall attitude, we're back to the old Livi, contesting every 2nd ball, and winning most of them, pressing opposition players all over the pitch, it aint pretty, but it's wonderful to see us having steel in the team again, after being as soft as shite last season.

Aberdeen wont have that intensity against them in every game, we had a game plan, absolutely dictated how the game was played, forcing Aberdeen into a scrap, and almost pulled off a win with a couple of decent chances. If we can keep this kind of effort up then there is no danger we're near the relegation scrap.

Brandon has surely got the RB/RWB spot nailed down now.

Yep, teams and opposition fans will hate playing us, we'll get the old murderball comments,  saying it'll get football banned, but this season especially, when we've had to cut our budget and are tipped to go down, it's brilliant to see we're back to making life very difficult for opposition teams, not giving them an inch, and being right in their faces.

Sack yersel. Clueless.

We created nothing against an aberdeen team that was clearly nowhere near the races in their very first competitive game of the season? A cb partnership consisting of a debutant who looked way below the level required and a second choice left back for them. Sure having 9 defensive players made us solid, but please enlighten me to where we created a single chance from open play? Imagine for a second that we took advantage of that and utilised some attacking options in our squad. But yeah clueless…. Okay bud

Nonsense, that team selection was right today. Martindale got it right.

Sure it was right for a point, defensively solid, but we never looked like scoring.

Obileye had a free header at the back post, Devlin heads a ball back to Roos from his stomach. We were pushing and getting close

off the top of my head there was the chance where Montano squared for Brandon who couldn't quite get on the end of it. Sure Montano and Anderson had decent chances too

The ball to Nouble, then out wide to Montano played for Brandon was a good chance, so was Ayo's header near the end. Devlin and Montano had cracks at goal too. We played how we had to, kept a clean sheet, and created a couple of decent chances. Honestly, no pleasing some folk, we all thought we'd be gubbed today, taking a point against Aberdeen was a good result, loved seeing the effort the player put in, like the Livi team that got us promoted and played under Holt.

Mate it’s just not that deep, it’s a reaction that 90% of fans were thinking when they saw the lineups, don’t think anybody was confident of a positive result. Martindale’s personal bodyguard over here

You've called for his sacking before on here. Just sick of the moany wee rats among our support stinking the place up on matchdays. Your user name references a player Martindale signed, get a grip.
