Falkirk were worse than anything we've played in the league this season and we still didn't even come close to taking advantage of that. Ferrie probably saved us from a really embarrassing result. Can't say I'm all that fussed about being out of this tournament, but I continue to be seriously concerned about the consistent mistakes at the back, our lack of urgency going forward, and the fact that this group of players clearly has absolutely no confidence in their own ability. It's pretty clear that Veldman is going to get sacked sooner rather than later. Airdrie away next week (on TV too, so everyone can see it) is a real worry. Sometimes signing loads of young players from academies down south isn't wise. Don't understand how you can go so backwards over the summer with all that money.

Don't understand how you can go so backwards over the summer with all that money. We only signed 3 players from down south in the summer and 2 of them have looked pretty decent, so they're not the issue (they all also had first team experience thanks to previous loan spells). The problem with recruitment is squad depth; if Paton gets injured the only other striker we have is a kid who's just turned 19 and has basically no first team experience, since we bizarrely sent Williamson on loan to Cove without replacing him. Even our more experienced guys like Dom Thomas and Tommy Robson have regressed massively this season. The heads have massively gone down, you can see everyone is seriously lacking in confidence and this manager just isn't the sort of guy you can rely on to inspire a team on such a poor run of form. Instead he continues to play guys out of position, make bizarre substitutions, and force a system that is clearly not working. The ability is there, and we should be able to stay well clear of the bottom two (which was always the objective) but it's obvious we need a few more bodies in the door and a change of leadership otherwise there's only one way this season is going to end.

I’m refusing to believe Queen’s Park objective is to avoid the bottom two with the daft amount of money spent.

You're more than welcome to believe what you like. That doesn't change the fact that this is very much a transitional year with a very young squad, where the focus is more on player development and establishing ourselves as a Championship level club than anything else.

Think our B side did pretty well tbh & agree your keeper kept scoreline respectable. Your tactics were Russell Martinesque - poor man Pep. Long ridge at right back must be an experiment surely? Also felt the boy Paton is a waste of a jersey as is a lazy & ineffectual. As for McCormick well he needs to be go back to under 20s level as his confidence is shot.
