A View From The Terrace - Series 6 Episode 5

Recommended Posts

Looking back on the week that saw much of Scottish football wiped out by the weather, Telfer is joined by Shaughan, Tony and Robert to recap the big talking points from the past week. The panel go round the houses, discussing the early promise of a new era at Ibrox and a bold statement by Rhys McCabe on his Airdrie side's potential challenge for the Championship title.

The managerial theme continues as two of Scotland's struggling gaffers at opposite ends of the country go under the spotlight as we asses if their seasons are set to see an upturn in form, or if they'll be looking for a new job by Christmas. In Search History, we take a deep dive into what's been happening in the online world of Scottish Football.

Anyone for a discussion on Robot Dogs? Half and Half Scarves looks at how we could improve Scottish Football by incorporating new technology into our game. Fan submissions give the panel food for thought as they look ahead to the weekend's fixtures, with a Fife Derby and a full round of Scottish Cup action to come before concluding with everyone's favourite game, The Banker!

Our films this week look at how the The Spartans are educating the next generation of fans with their passionate group of young Ultras, and we showcase part one of our look back on the man who saved Celtic in the early 1990's.

10:30pm, BBC Scotland and iPlayer.

Fantastic piece on the Spartans ultras. The Youth Work manager is doing an incredible job to promote the young lads to get so involved, not only in the match day experience but to have such an active role in the Club and in the community will have an unmeasurably positive influence on the young people and the wider community.

It was great to see the young lads involved in the filming as well, talking about what they do and the sense of purpose it brings them. It would be easy, and I’m probably somewhat guilty of this myself at times, to view these lads as ‘wannabes’ who might be getting themselves involved in not-so-pro-social activities outwith, but to hear their motivation for moving away from that kind of lifestyle whilst still having the ‘casuals’ vibe is heartwarming and inspirational.

Quite emotional typing that actually, well done all involved.
