Guest
Watching this now, it's just a reminder of the fact that Scott McTominay is arguably the best footballer in the world, also those salty Spain tears ETA highlights how much we're going to miss Dykes at this tournament Edited June 9 by Empty It

Definitely, definitely our best finisher. I watched it last night. The thing that stood out is the camaraderie of the entire squad. They're a band of brothers, and it shows. Hell, watch the bench after McLean got the winner. Even Chris Woods (legend) lost his mind! Ahhh.. Rodri.

craigkillie
A penalty shoot-out is not part of the match, so it was a draw.

I know that's technically correct, but I always find it weird. Normal time, extra time and penalties are all practically and functionally part of the tie - wonder why we segregate the shoot out.
craigkillie
Those are still proper football, just some extra minutes of it, a penalty shoot-out is a totally different thing which purely exists as a method of breaking a tie.

Yeah that's true. But when the tie is broken by penalties, that's the result (as opposed ot a draw) as I see it. It just feels clunky referring to a game as "ending in a draw, but we won on penalties" etc
