Chripper
It goes beyond caps. It's about coaching. It's about playing having football IQ. I hark back to Ian Cathro being chased out of Scottish football for using a laptop and using analysis, etc. Angelo Alessio. A man who has coached Pogba, Pirlo, Chiellini, Bonucci, etc, got chased out of Kilmarnock because the players found his training sessions "boring". Scottish players are lazy and they don't want to improve. And the clubs are happy to survive and not thrive. Scottish football, en mass, is stuck in the dark ages. And people are pedantic when the top tier is referred to as the "SPL". Aye, okay, it doesn't deserve a fancy name like the "Premiership". Imagine being found boring by someone who can't even poach eggs properly. if Alessio had used more pictures then he would still be in a job.
craigkillie
Look at the stellar managerial careers Cathro and Alessio have had elsewhere too. Only in Scotland would these visionaries be hounded out as failures. Edited June 16 by craigkillie -

Maybe we should offer cash as an sweetener to let us put a B team in Nations League D. They should want us and the giant visiting support we bring. It'll be an honour for them.

Theroadlesstravelled
Clarke would still pick the same group of players for a B International. He has 1 formation and 1 group of players. Simple as.
itzdrk
Would the crowd just be made up of neck beards there to see Ryan Gauld and whatever flavour of the month regen playing for Lincoln City they have decided is the future?
