An Absolute Imposter
Some teams posting their lists of friendlies before the big kick-off in late July. Always interesting to see early where clubs are at after the usual close season managerial and player merry go round. Some clubs with new management in place and others still on the lookout. From what I have seen on sm most clubs have resigned a good core of last seasons squad's. Please correct me if wrong.

Bad Wolf
Some less than household names up there! Scaur play in Penpont, which is somewhere in the vicinity of Moniave (he says vaguely), while Unisun are a newish team from Carlisle who've had a shitload of promotions since forming in 2011. So says the internet. I intend to take in as many Uppers games as possible before the pitch is declared unplayable and they bugger off to play "home" matches in Lockerbie (or God knows where else), as they did last season. Much to my annoyance.

Due to SLC pitch laws (made up nonsense) we can't get near our pitch to August or I'm sure we would welcome Lochar up here. Hopefully that is something we intend to change in the future. Gow heading down to Lochmaben this Saturday. What's the ground like and more importantly does it have a pie shop?

Its quite basic, a roped off pitch with one pavilion. Don't know what food facilities they have, but you do come through the town to get there and there are your usual bakeries, cafes, etc. They are quite active on Facebook, drop them a message. Lochmaben have only been a league team since 2016 after a merger with the now defunct Crichton FC. They have finished in bottom 6 since covid and had a difficult season just gone. Lochar have been top 6 for a while; there is a noticeable gap between top and bottom 6 in the SOSFL. Like a number of towns down here Lochmaben 'suffers' from the tourist invasion this time of year. It is your typical wee Scottish rural community and is worth a wee look around if time allows. Good on the Gow for regularly playing against south clubs.
