Beachcomber
Here we go again, East Fife's third home game in eight days. First win of the League Season last Saturday in a game dominated by the wind against a very poor City, Forfar will undoubtedly prove a stiffer test. This will be a close game with few goals. We should keep same line up as last week : - McFarlane- - McManus- - Munro- -Easton- -Peggie- -Millar- -Norey- -Shepherd- -Trouten- -Newton- -Austin-

Beachcomber
Thought we deserved to win the game. Forfar didn't create much atall and scored from the calamity mix-up, would like to see it again but it seemed to be the keepers ball..coming for through balls and crosses seem to be his weakness and something he has to work on. Onto the goals and Fash expertly stroked that free kick into the corner after good work from Norey. McCallum seemed to be protesting about the penalty but why would Fash go down when he was rounding the goalkeeper ? Difficult to say from the home end. Trouten as always is the coolest person in the stadium when dispatching a penalty. We should have possibly scored from the move of the match, great interplay giving Norey a clear shot at goal and by his reaction he knows he should have done better. McManus didn't look comfortable at right back, and wasn't a surprise to see him replaced by Murdoch. Good effort from the guys with everyone putting a shift in. Fash looked on better form than last week. As for Forfar, too many high balls. I thought Klimionek looked good especially in the first half but Morrison had a very quiet game.
Exiled Fifer
Not a nice game to watch. EF did not look capable in breaking down the 5 man Forfar rear line until it took a worldy free kick from Fash to open the scoring. I think that McCallum got his positioning wrong here. If you see where he was standing, and the distance between him and the far post, , mmmmmm. IMO , the striker of the ball should not be able to squeeze the ball in from that distance but hey, he plays for the opposition so let him take up wrong positioning as often as he likes. But it was still a beaut of a free kick. After the comedy capers of an equaliser, EF lost their way for about 10/15 minutes then came back into things. I don’t know why McCallum was raging at the penalty being given but it looked like a stone-waller to me. Maybe he was just angry with himself for causing it. That numpty Maclean got booked for nearly beheading somebody in the stand when he booted a second ball on the pitch away. Children please behave yourselves. But over the piece, I think EF just about deserved the victory. Nevertheless, the last few games have shown how fragile and limited the squad is, and that’ s just with 1 out injured. Fingers crossed.
