πŸ”΅πŸ”΄ The Caley vs The Binos πŸ”΄βšͺ️

Just a bog standard game against a side from the league below. Over by halftime and the second half was as boring as you’d expect.

In summay

New strip looks awesome - should play all games in it

We lack with and need wingers, everyone looks scared to run the linevand cross, no matter what line up

When we move the ball and go direct we can look dangerous

SA offered nothing and let us dictate the game making us look better than we are

Bollan is massive......literally

Yeah the new away strip looks cracking and Adam MacKinnon is a plur. I thought Connall Ewan was solid enough on his debut and Savage strolled it again.Β

Don't know what everyone's seeing in MacKinnon. Thought he wasn't great out wide. Same with savage, solid but too limited to be shunted to the left.Β

Ewan seems better at taking the ball out than devine/savage. But made a few mistakes nearer the end.

Nolan also a little disappointing. Was hoping he'd be more direct in taking defenders on, but left it more to Duffy to go on.Β

MacLeod, Davidson and Brooks best players of the day

Is that todays game you’re talking about?

Solid, comfortable victory can't ask for more really. Knocking on the door a few times before Brooks slotted in round the keeper after a lovely weighted ball from Mackinnon.Β

Brooks did well to win the free kick he was causing Stirling all sorts of problems.Β

Took our foot of the pedal in the 2nd half as expected. We let Stirling into the game a wee bit as they threatened to get back into it but they never troubled us.Β

Mackinnon sealed the win with his deflected shot after Ray Nolan had his shot saved.Β Can't fault the team for turning down the tempo the game was won.Β

The Β£100k prize money to me is a game changer cause that would definitely be of use to us. Even the Β£60k for being runners up.Β

Club should doing everything they can to get as much money into the club as possible so it makes sense they treat this cup a lot more seriously this season.

Agreed but post match interview with dunc suggests its not important to us.

Given the level we are at and players, this cup should be taken seriously as for many it's the only time they might ever play a final or win a trophy.

I suspect what Dunc thinks and what he’s being told to do differ slightly. He was wittering on about possibly having to play under-16s yet a near enough full team (barring injuries) was played. Sounds like he’s trying to make a point but has been told from above that this competition is important.

Aye that's another good point some of these players would be lucky to end up in a Scottish Cup or League Cup final so challenge cup is probably their best shot.Β

I personally quite liked the final in 2018 against Dumbarton was a good atmosphere πŸ‘Œ that & the run we went on that season where we justΒ  missed out on the play offs were definitely the highlights of that campaign.Β

Yeah he's probably looked at this competition the same as he would the Papa John's trophy but Christie & Savage have told him that they want to take this seriously due to the prize money upgrade. Get a good Scottish Cup run as well if we can just get as much money as possible into the place.Β

If he doesn't like it he can piss off who knows if we reach the final might be the only thing he wins as a manager.Β
