Scottish Championship Team of the season
Sir Tarmo replied to sr1867's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Cameron Harper is better than the majority of these XIs combined. Says it all about the state of this league that when The Caley have an off season we start seeing random Ayr United dross filling these teams. The Championship needs a strong The Caley. -
Queen's Park 🕷🕸 v 🔴🔵 The Caley
Sir Tarmo replied to Stephen Malkmus's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
I’ve said it before on our threads but everyone knows Welsh is a good player, he’d be playing at a higher level if he wasn’t constantly injured. The timing of getting rid of some experienced players (Welsh, Carson etc) during a relegation scrap, particularly to relegation rivals in one case, and replacing them with inexperienced loan players was certainly questionable. However, individually letting Welsh go wasn’t the poorest decision. Queen’s fans will realise this when he’s out with another long term injury. -

It’s hard to say. He’s not really been prolific in the Championship, so unlikely he ever will be at any level, but I think he can be an asset paired alongside another striker. He works his socks off. -

I thought we were deserved winners. It was a brilliant goal by Harper, and it felt like we could have had more. McKay (apart from his second half sitter) and Samuel worked their back sides off, and thought Doran and Kerr played well too. Apart from a couple of half chances, we weren’t troubled too much. We certainly do make it hard for ourselves with all our pointless passing about though, a better side may have punished us at the other end. I thought Queen’s Park were really poor to be honest, but I thought that at the last away game there and they have managed to do better than us since. It’s good to be out of the play off spot but it’s certainly going down to the wire. -
I’d be pretty confident playing Montrose, and especially Cove, who we never seem to have much issue against. Alloa have been a pain in the arse however, and I’d not fancy a 2 legged affair against Hamilton either

The play-off race
Sir Tarmo replied to Jives Miguel's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
We are honking but I don’t think we’re any more honking than Dunfermline and Airdrie. It will be tight. -
Good win but it needs to be backed up by a few more or it’s pointless. We’ve been shite for ages but are still only 2 points off 5th. Despite our injury list and dreadful form, I don’t think there’s much between 5th and 9th in terms of ability so to avoid the play off spot we need to perform like that more often.

The Caley battling through an endless list of injuries. What a club.

We do not wish to have somebody with the suspect history of Dougie Imrie at our club.
