Dazzle
It's really, really not. It really, really is. It's a roll on sausage if you eat like an idiot! Wrong again sir. It's roll on sausage.A sausage roll is a pastry treat. Exactly on both counts.
Guest Dunc?
A roll and sausage suggests absolutely no connection. That's just two separate items.
Toma_BullyWee
It's roll on sausage.A sausage roll is a pastry treat. Do place a sausage on a plate, then sit a roll on top of your sausage? No, you don't, because that would be fucking silly. You place the sausage inside the roll. Am I saying it's a sausage roll? No. I'm saying it's a roll AND sausage. Wrong again sir. See above.
Dazzle
There's a difference between a Sausage Roll and a Roll and Sausage. Yes there is and thats why there both of them are not called a sausage roll.

Toma_BullyWee
A roll and sausage suggests absolutely no connection. That's just two separate items. Roll and sausage. Piece and cheese Chips and cheese. Roll on sausage? Piece on cheese? Chips on cheese?
Dazzle
Roll and sausage. Piece and cheese Chips and cheese.Roll on sausage? Piece on cheese? Chips on cheese? Technically you could have chips on cheese anyway.
Guest Dunc?
Roll and sausage. Piece and cheese Chips and cheese.Roll on sausage? Piece on cheese? Chips on cheese? Roll on sausage. A cheese piece. An abomination.
Toma_BullyWee
Technically you could have chips on cheese anyway. Technically, but it would be daft. Who would want cheese at the bottom with chips on top of them? Sanity dictates that you have cheese on your chips. But it's not chips on cheese, the same was as you don't buy packets of "Pasta on Sauce".

Toma_BullyWee
I am not sure, but all I was saying is that it is possible to do this so your point is wrong in that case. It's possible, but it's not logical. The same way it's possible for someone to sit a roll on top of a sausage, but it's unlikely they would. Any sane person would place the sausage inside the roll. Roll and sausage. Roll n sausage. Roll on sausage? No.

StewartyMac
Look, it's quite simple. It's clearly roll and sausage. The only reason people think it's roll ON sausage is because of the way you say it. "Roll 'n sausage please" People have interpreted this as 'roll on sausage' because of the way it sounds, when in fact, it's roll and sausage, due to the main fact that roll on sausage makes no sense whatsoever. Here endeth the lesson.
