From the Oxford English Dictionary: Banana - noun; long, curved fruit with a soft pulpy flesh and yelloe skin when ripe, growing in clusters. In true QI style ( and adopting my best Stephen Fry impression ) - I award you minus 10 points! You have quoted the Oxford English Dictionary. I have cut and pasted the following from www.askoxford.com. Is a banana a fruit or a herb?Both.
