Gordon EF
There's huge discussions about this on an international forum I sometimes visit. What do P&B'rs think?
Swampy
World Cup. More games, more unknown quantities, more Brazil.
Guest SeD
Some group stages could be easier depending on the calibre of the Asian/African/CONCACAF representatives but once you're into the knockout stages it's definitely harder.
Deco
First round, Euro is harder, then the WC is harder the rest of the way. Imo.

Guest spr
The Euro Champs, imo. There's no dross like Peru, Iran or Costa Rica there.
miketheheadlesschicken
The European Championships are definitely harder to win. People were wondering how a team as average as Germany got into the World Cup final but it's not that difficult to understand when you see they had to play Ireland, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Paraguay, the USA and South Korea to get there. There are no easy games in the European Championships.
Guest baldfred
The European Championships are definitely harder to win. How can you say that when the best teams from Europe play in the World Cup and in addition the likes of Brazil and Argentina? The World Cup is harder for European teams to qualify for, European Championships group stages are probably slightly harder on average, and the World Cup is at least as hard to win. bluetooner
The thing that makes the world cup as hard to win is the different climates. That is shown by the fact that Brazil are the only country to win a world cup outside their own continent. However it is easier to get a lucky draw in the world cup with easier teams shown by the teams Germany had to play, due to this. I do however think that the European CHampionships are a tougher tournament, but easier to win due to the fact that there is no brazil/argentina to think about. miketheheadlesschicken
How can you say that when the best teams from Europe play in the World Cup and in addition the likes of Brazil and Argentina? You don't necessarily have to beat Brazil to win the tournament. Even then, it would only be one game. You can get a lucky draw in the World Cup, eg. Germany, but you can't get lucky in the European Championships. You have to beat at least 4 very good teams to win the European Championships. mythicalcreature
World Cup. Not only do I prefer this compettion, there are more teams and the winners must win more games in order to win the competition.
David W
The European Championships are harder. You don't get any groups of death similar to Groups C/D in this years tournament in the World Cup.
