Davis Love III
You can just tell that Dennis Smith's underwear is absolutely rank. He probably wears Y-fronts.
Marshmallo
f**k this I'm away to bed. Dennis Smith, good lord. -

StewartyMac
It's painful watching Smiffy play. Imagine him playing Andy Hamilton. That would be the darting equivalent of Terry Griffiths v Cliff Thorburn in the snooker. EDIT - Or worse, Justin Pipe! Poet of the Macabre
Yeah, can't watch this either.
The Naitch
Fair put me off my w**k that. Yeah, can't watch this either. Off to finish his w**k IMO.
We Are Pars Fans!
Smiths throwing technique is just bizarre. Been a woeful night of darts, summed up in the last match when the pair of them spent ages trying to get 4 and 2, commentators were even joking someone from the crowd should have a go.
meanmistermustard
At least its close. Lewis could throw 6 darts by the time Smith has thrown his first.
Davis Love III
Off to finish his w**k IMO. Probably inspired by Adrian Lewis' smooth rhythm. Hey, it works for me...
The Naitch
Well, at least it looks like Lewis is in the mood. Hopefully it's a whitewash.
Davis Love III
Smiths throwing technique is just bizarre. It is, and I've never understood the concept behind it. It's fidgety and takes far too much effort. Occasionally, he'll just throw the third dart without the nonsense and it will invariably find the treble.
Davis Love III
Looking back at the stats, Smith was certainly a solid player between 1998-2003. Regularly averaging into the 90s, and competing with strong players. Lost a Quarter Final at the 2003 Worlds to Phil Taylor with a 95 average. I'm sure I watched that game. Finished 5-3 to Taylor.
Davis Love III
Mind you, High Definition didn't exist during Smith's heyday. Those closeups...Christ...
The Naitch
Nearly there Aidy, nearly there. The first round is usually a bit 'meh' but it seems even more turgid this year. Thank goodness the 2nd round gets started on Friday night.
Davis Love III
Phil Taylor sponsored Dennis this year on the Tour. (As he has done in the past). Taylor: “I’ve sponsored Dennis because I love him to bits, and I think he is a great lad, a great player and a lovely person, and I hope he does really well. He’s taken his time and he’s had to build himself back up again, and he’s doing it, he’s qualifying for the majors now and he is giving people a good game, so he shouldn’t be so hard on himself because it’s still early doors. I will keep backing him, and maybe we should practice together a little bit more, but he is one of my best friends on the circuit, a proper friend. When I play him he is still my friend, but I try and beat him 9-0 like he would me, or at least I hope he would. He needs to keep what he’s doing and get more and more confidence back, and that is all he has to do. I wouldn’t back him if I didn’t think he could do it, although it may take another 12 months or so, but if he keeps going and works hard then he will be alright.”
We Are Pars Fans!
His technique uses so much more movement/energy than required. The crowd is even really really flat tonight.
Neilly
Lewis looks up foe this despite playing no c**t. Would love him to go on and get his 3rd world title.
We Are Pars Fans!
I reckon If Taylor doesn't win this tournament then Lewis will.
The Naitch
Finally, it's over. Instead of waterboarding they should try making them watch this over at Guantánamo Bay.
Neilly
It really was an awful 4-5 hours of 'entertainment' tonight.
