Davis Love III
The first round is usually a bit 'meh' but it seems even more turgid this year. Thank goodness the 2nd round gets started on Friday night. I think it's a combination of having a number of experienced players fighting for their careers taking on inexperienced qualifiers. Generally, it has led to some abysmal games, but there have been a lot of good performances thrown in too. Would love him to go on and get his 3rd world title. I certainly agree with that. I've really warmed to him in recent years, and he's tremendous to watch. Edited December 18, 2013 by Davis Love III
Davis Love III
Finally, it's over. Instead of waterboarding they should try making them watch this over at Guantánamo Bay. Watching Dennis Smith is a lot like simulated drowning. It really was an awful 4-5 hours of 'entertainment' tonight. But yet we watched it. Bonkers...
Half Rice Half Chips
Dennis Smith's throwing style is just ridiculous. And it doesn't even work. If you're going to voluntarily make yourself look like a gimp on national television at least try to be good at what you're doing.
Poet of the Macabre
Glad and not surprised I didn't miss anything. I really can't stand slow players but at least can respect guys like Pipe who do quite well. Playing slow and averaging 80 is like playing long ball in football and losing every week. It has been a pretty poor start to the tournament so far. Big Hendo getting through has been my highlight. Ridiculous that Chisnall went out after averaging 98 but Michael Smith is through going at less than 80. Way the tournament goes though, I guess. What is everyone looking forward to in the 2nd round? Lewis and VdV will not take long no matter what the score is!

The Naitch
Cracking work, DL, Poor Denis coming out with a 65 average - I presume that's the match he pulled out of halfway through?
Marshmallo
Just overheard someone speaking about the darts this week - "they've been singing the Touré song most of the week, it's been brilliant!" -

That's right. Withdrew after one set. I was a little reluctant to add that, but Denis needed a mention somewhere... Rugster
What are they actually singing when they sing that tune?
Neilly
KOLO, KOLO, KOLO, KOLO, TOURE YAYA, YAYA, YAYA, YAYA, TOURE They were actually singing KIMMY AND RONNY to the Huybrechts bros the other night which is quite decent as it is about the players at least but f**k knows why the Toure thing has even been sung at the arras it's fucking mind numbing.

Cheers, I thought it would at least have been relevant. Obviously not (other than the Huybrechts chants). What a bunch of morons.
The Naitch
Tonight just has to be better than last night. Right? The first match should be fun between Webster and old jazz hands himself, Mensur Suljovic.

Neilly
That's James Wades bit eh gear I actually don't think she's that braw looks a bit creepy. Sukjovic playing well but I would have him favourite for this anyway Webster has been shite for too long now.
The Naitch
Going very well for Mensur up there so far. Webster seems to start legs well but crumbles after 6/9 darts.
Marshmallo
This is more like it tonight. Suljovic is always a decent watch. -
The Naitch
Wow, huge turning point there. Mensur miscounts and lets Webby in. EDIT: I didn't hear it but turns out the ref called 117 instead of the correct score of 127. Just as well he didn't hit that D20.
