DomDom
Darts has had rowdy crowds from the beginning, what's the big deal? To an extent, but whenever you see clips of the older matches, there seemed to be much more respect for the guys throwing the darts. The Matchplay has always drawn the best crowd down the years in terms of both knowledge and good order. Simply wasn't the case this year. Grand Prix easily. Didn't see the Matchplay last year for the most part so wouldn't know.
northernscum
The next game should be interesting, it depends which John Part turns up, the guy Greebe is no mug. Edited December 21, 2009 by northernscum
The Naitch
Baxter comfortable 3-0 winner in the end. Anderson vs Baxter is going to be a brilliant match in Round 2.
The Naitch
Greebe will cause Part some problems in this match, but still expect the Canadian to make it through.
The Naitch
Good opening gambit from Part ... 12 darter to take a 1-0 lead in the 1st set. There's something strange about Greebe's throw, can't put my finger on it. Edited December 21, 2009 by The Naitch
northernscum
Is it my imagination or is Greebe half the size he was last year?
The Naitch
Wonderful 167 seals the set for Part.
northernscum
Wonderful 167 seals the set for Part. Fookin hell Part, are you on a promise or something?
DomDom
Is it my imagination or is Greebe half the size he was last year? You might be thinking of two years ago. I remember he had lost a TON of weight for last year and looked around the same in Bolton.
The Naitch
Great checkout from Greebe to take the 1st leg of this set, especially after the 180 that Part hit to put pressure on the young Dutchman.
northernscum
This is quality as well.
The Naitch
John Part is hitting the big scores and taking out the big doubles - he means business tonight!
The Naitch
Fantastic 150 checkout from Greebe to keep this match alive.
The Naitch
Part, though, comes through in the end in what was an impressive performance.
dave_binos
Is Part on the same side of the draw as Taylor? Impressive performance and was 80/1 before tonight - not too shabby.
The Naitch
They can't meet before the semi-final (I believe it's an open draw at that stage - if it's not then they can't meet 'til the final).
Nick_BCFC
This is why I hate not having Sky. I love watching the darts. I hear Scholten is out? Is this correct? He has always been one of my favourites to watch.
Neilly
Aye i see your point to an extent, but surely the crowd are not that stupid and understand that it's only a wee wind up FFS.The cat calling & booing is bad enough in the premier league where half the knobends who turn up don't know the first thing about the sport and are only there for the piss-up, but it's always been a much more knowlegable crowd at the majors, so i for one don't want that shit to creep in to the main events, or before you know it you'll be getting the ENGURLAND, ENGURLAND chanting in the middle of a game, f**k that. I would be shocked if the crowd don't give it the old ENGURLAND chants when Anderson plays Baxter in the next round.
tigerton
The ENGERLUND chants are the most annoying thing about these crowds. I don't think most English darts players would come up to Scotland and get booed for just being English, its not that type of sport.

Yeah, I see your point and you're right, but still, had to be done. Lets not forget the rabid crowd for Mardle vs. Thornton last year at the Ally Pally. If ever there was evidence that the crowds were PL style before, this was it.
