DomDom
That's a good cap off to the year for Smith I have to say. I've been a fan of his for a while. Not a great player though so I can't see him raising enough of a game to do well here.
The Naitch
It's Taylor vs Beaton and Wade vs Whitlock in the semi finals tonight. The three players who had to do well for Grand Slam purposes (Tabern, Newton and Smith) finished in the bottom three. Good news for Colin Lloyd and van der Voort who would now qualify via their respective order of merit rankings barring anything crazy happening in the remaining three Players' Championship events.

The Naitch
Killarney Players' Championship Fourth Round Richie Burnett 6-4 Mark Webster Nigel Heydon 6-4 Steve Beaton Jamie Caven 6-5 Justin Pipe Gary Anderson 6-2 Tony Eccles Barrie Bates 6-4 Colin Lloyd Dennis Smith 6-2 Ronnie Baxter Colin Osborne 6-5 Wes Newton Joe Cullen 6-5 Phil Taylor Quarter-Finals Richie Burnett 6-2 Nigel Heydon Gary Anderson 6-3 Jamie Caven Dennis Smith 6-1 Barrie Bates Colin Osborne 6-2 Joe Cullen Semi-Finals Gary Anderson 6-5 Richie Burnett Dennis Smith 6-4 Colin Osborne Final Gary Anderson 6-1 Dennis Smith Bit of a bizarre day in Killarney. Taylor gets knocked out relatively early, Dennis 'Smiffy' Smith puts in his best showing in years and Richie Burnett, the former World Champ, has a terrific day too. It's been far too long since Smiffy was on the telly - I'll never forget his epic encounters against Dennis Priestley across the various tournaments, mainly because they lasted for an age!

The Naitch
The Winamu World Masters is on next week on the BBC if your interested! I'd imagine most of it, if not all, will be behind the red button. Hopefully Colin Murray is still doing it as he was excellent during the World Championships back in January. Also noticed that the seedings for the 2011 Lakeside have been released - Ross Montgomery (7) and Mark Barilli (12) are the Scots amongst the seeds. Ted Hankey will be unseeded for the tournament.

Spoke to Mark about Lakeside for this year. He said that it won't matter too much if your seeded or not as there are some very good players unseeded. It will be luck of the draw. Hopefully 3rd time lucky for him at the Lakeside and get a win under his belt!

DomDom
Should be noted that in the first round on the floor, Greenock's Mick Malone got drawn against Peter Evison at the World Masters.

discodave
Both the seeded and unseeded players are shite. Ok then chum The BDO have brought through players over the years who switch to the PDC for the money. Barney, Anderson, Whitlock, King. There are plenty more. If the BDO had the same Sky cash cow it would be the other way around. Edited October 22, 2010 by discodave

I'd disagree with that statement actually as it'd still be Olly Croft in charge of things at the BDO. As long as he's still calling the shots the organisation has no chance.

The Naitch
No chance of what? Making more money ? Had Sky decided to go with the BDO instead of the PDC after the split then there would have been little chance of it working with Olly in charge.

Really is great to see him show some form again. Edited October 24, 2010 by The Naitch

It's difficult to see past the top four seeds but the Welsh, Americans and Germans will cause problems.
