Japan have very little structure in attack, which combined with a some sloppiness in our defence, is making it difficult to read.

 

We are falling into the same style - we need to stay structured and force them into errors.

To be fair, at half time in that game I was all for giving Cotter his jotters at half time in the tunnel.  Second half, Scotland actually played really well.  I still have faith, but they really try my patience.

The senior players need to start taking control here. When we have kept it tight, Japan have given away penalties.

 

And there's another and a yellow card - keep it simple, win the game, and then finish them with the offload game later.

Earlier points about offloads is spot on....also doesn't help how long laidlaw waits to pass from ruck. Gives the Japanese defence more time to line up. It's infuriating how often he slows it up then receiver gets the ball with a defender right in his face

That's true.  But the 13 of Japanese had a chance to take the game to just one point.
