  1. Have to say, the posters using the abuse of women for "hilarious" trolling and point scoring are exactly the ones I'd have expected.
  2. to be fair, we've already punted a guy who was one of our best players, and who we probably lost a fair bit of money on from signing in the summer, so I'm not sure you can really accuse St Mirren of that kind of behavior. Do concede it's been a problem in football as a whole down the years though.
  3. Yeah, you are probably right, I think the only thing he has going against him is age right now, all the other guys are 25 or under. I don't know, I promise wasn't making my point very clear last night, I don't actually agree with him missing out, but I'm trying to see what Townsend sees. I've seen former pros saying it can take 10-15 games to really get up to speed at test level, and he must think it's not worth investing that In Matthews now. In saying that I've heavily criticised Townsend before for this kind of thing, where he isn't picking his best players. Ireland and the springboks don't give a f**k what age you are if you are producing the goods.
  4. Just catching up, that is a magnificent result for the warriors. In terms of the Matthews debate, going a wee bit against the grain, but I can see why Townsend doesn't fancy him. He's a good player, but I do think he's maybe not international level, whereas the other guys, if not now, will be. It's harsh probably, and I do sometimes wish he would just pick his best team, but I can see where he's coming from.
  5. This happens a lot to old celebrities, or public figures, on social media. They start off and it's all nice, people blowing smoke up their arse, they way it's always been, the way they expect. Then they say something f**king stupid and simply can't accept people disagreeing with them. The audacity shocks them, they can't take it and it becomes an obsession.
  6. I think part of the problem is that the hardcore rememberers are all they have left. A lot of people have been put off the whole thing in recent years because of how politicised it's become, and to be honest, I think a lot of people now don't wear poppies because they don't want to be associated with the people who do. I know a lot of folk my age, who had grandparents who fought in WW2, who would wear poppies every year, but now don't because of the way it's ended up. And because the only people buying poppies now are the nutters, they have to lean more and more into that to make sure the money keeps coming in. It's a very sad state of affairs.
  7. I haven't seen Duhan or Darcy touch the ball in an attacking move. This is so boring.

Libertines at the Barras last night, a lovely little walk down memory lane. Great fun, and I think it's fair to say they are a much better band now than they probably were back in the day. Fat Pete is better than Smack Pete.
  9. Yeah, totally agree with all of this, but unfortunately I guess it's going to be the way of things going forward with every half decent youngster in the UK getting sucked into the EPL academy system then punted back out to clubs like ours when they don't quite make it.
  10. I think a few of the younger guys will play this autumn. We've got the Fiji game, which is a Glasgow/Edinburgh select and Portugal. Hopefully those games will see some of the summer tour guys continuing to play and the first team will play Aus/SA.
  11. Yeah, it looked really bad and I think they said he was straight to hospital. Guy never really gets a break for Scotland, strong competition and badly timed injury seems to have cost him a lot of caps.
  12. Just watching the replay of the Edinburgh game now as I was out yesterday. When I saw the score I was expecting a pretty dominant performance, but Edinburgh really had to dig in and show some character, especially the 30 mins around half time. Muncaster has been excellent.
  13. It's good to see some younger players actually getting a chance, especially forwards in a successful team. Him, Ferrie, Williamson, Samuel all taking their chances. It's not like the Fagersons, Darge or Cummings are old men either.
  14. Glasgow do give away some really needlessly soft penalties. That one was so obvious with really not much to gain.
