"Black coaches held back in Scottish football"

Recommended Posts

According to Russell Latapy (former assistant manager at Inverness) and Kevin Harper.

Do people think this is the case? The article mentions that only 6% of coaches going through the system in Scotland are black, and usually it's former players who played in Scotland that get positions up here. Aside from Harper and Latapy, which other black footballers who played up here are applying for roles? Also what roles have Harper and Latapy applied for?

On the other hand a quick look at social media reveals just how racist many people are, so could there be some truth in what they (Harper and Latapy) are saying?

Disabled coaches are held back as well IMO - every club should be made to interview an arbitrary number of disabled candidates for every position.

According to the 2011 census 4% of the Scottish population are non-white of which less than 1/3 identify as either African, Caribbean, Black or Mixed-Race. The rest identify as Asian, Asian Scottish or Asian British.

We already do with John Hughes.

Blacks aren't getting a fair crack of the whip (pun not intended) in a few sports, what about black swimmers? Not talking about what's dribbling out yer maw but actual swimmers, never seen one that's quick. I do of course mean across the water and not downwards with concrete feet, just for clarification.
