  1. Of course. Got in early as advised. Stocks low due to last game. No curry pies...boo. Settled for an onion one, ended up with my mates steak one by accident. So all in all, a good pie day.
  2. Kello Rovers 1 Gow 3. The Gow made it hard going for themselves in the first half. Kello played well, 1-1 HT. Stepped it up a bit in the second half and ran out well deserved winners. That's us off to the second division next year...yippee
  3. Bellshill seem to be doing their best not to get promoted, did the same not happen last year? It will be a sore one to take if they don't make it. Threave are looking good but Lanark could do Bellshill a favour next Wednesday.
  4. VOL had a boys club at game, they walked out as mascots with team and some remained as ball boys, while the rest watched and joined the Ultras. Good to see them getting the young ones involved and hopefully adding to their support in the long term.
  5. VOL 0 Gow 3 Win on Saturday confirms promotion. Team did well tonight. 1-0 HT. 2nd half, VOL down to ten men. Double dissent no 11. We scored almost straight after it and added third near the end. Could have easily been 5 or 6, if we were more clinical. VOL could have played until this time next week and not scored. Good to get a straight forward win. Kello on Saturday, looking forward to the pies.
  6. I was surprised at St Cuthberts drop in form, as they are usually one of stronger teams in the area. You have to involve the community, its vital at this level. We played Upper Annandale in the SRCC, great folks running the club, chatting to them. They struggle to get locals turning up but not for the want of trying £3 to get in and free cakes at half time. What's not to like. Played Mid Annandale too, great wee set up they have, doing it right with a cage. Bonus points for pie stall. It was so wet the night we played them, I would have been better wearing a wetsuit and a divers helmet
  7. I've always had a wee interest in SOS. I love non league football and there's an oddity factor, I just like about SOS. I would say the same about the Highlands. SOS must have the most cups for any region. Gow played Broxburn and lost 3-2 at their place this season. One off maybe but two legs think it will be a step too far. Having played Creetown, think I will hoping they do it. Seem a good wee club. We need five points from the remaining four games to confirm promotion. Which we should do. We could confirm promotion at Kello on Saturday, if we win and beat Vale of Leven away on Weds but it won't be easy. I would like some straightforward wins, instead of the roller coaster football we've had in recent games. Regards SOS, always kept an eye out for Newton Stewart results and before that Tarff Rovers.
  8. Should be some game. Good crowd too hopefully. Winner plays Broxburn for LL play off. Good to see Creetown in with a shout. Gow played them in SRCC last season won 6-3. We got a couple players from the Star last season too, Currie brothers. How do you think either will fare against Broxburn?
  9. From what I've seen of Threave; At Craighead, I expected more from them. We looked better when we went down to ten men. Infact we scored two of our three goals. They didn't seem up for it but maybe we didn't let them play. Down there, it was like the Alamo, we were lucky to get a draw. If they had their shooting boots on, we could have lost by 3 or 4. In general, if they could get a proven goal scorer they would be formidable. I think their run in the SRCC meant they took their eye off the ball in the league. I don't think they need major surgery, 3-4 good additions to the squad, including a proven goalscorer, which is easier said than done. If they don't make it up this season then they will next season if they keep the core of the squad. That wee Dunglinson fella, is a great wee player.
  10. Gow 4 WPU 3 As usual, we do enjoy a challenge 3-1 down with 20 minutes to go. Previous to that, WPU played well on the break and deserved their lead. We had enough chances to win three games but couldn't get the ball in the net, bar one. The spirit, resilience and determination in this squad is outstanding. I just wish we would make things easier for ourselves but it does make for great entertainment. I'm reliably informed we need five points from our last four games and we are promoted. Didn't see a Finnart win coming. Did think Ardeer would make it tough for Bellshill. Well done Lanark on confirming promotion. Mon the Gow.
  11. Finnart seem to have dropped off a bit since we beat them 4-2 at their place. Would expect Threave to win. He's a good keeper, he will be a big miss for them.
  12. Wish him all the best for his recovery from all at the Gow. Our player at weekend waited two hours for an ambulance. Its unacceptable. Our game against Ardeer is now to be played on 15th May, would think there is a good chance that's when you will play Threave again.
  13. Gow 3 Greenock 2 We like to make it hard for ourselves., lost an early goal. Got one back before half time. Greenock got one early second half. Gow then moved up a gear and scored two within a few minutes. Handy result for us down at Irvine. I see Lanark v Threave got abandoned on 90 minutes,. I hope the Lanark lad will be ok, not sure of the nature of injury. Threave will be gutted considering the circumstances.
  14. One down, one to go. I'm hoping they do it, as it will leave a little wriggle room for us over Threave, assuming we keep it up. Best of luck for Wednesday and confirming promotion
