  1. McGlynn will have faced similar scenarios during his career and will work on the defensive shape this week If Alloa decides to come out and have a go - great. An open game suits Falkirk.
  2. Look at it from Alloa's point of view. Season defining game on Tuesday that if they do the job right they have a few more to face. Just can't see the management or players risking all on a meaningless game.
  3. Alloa have massive games coming up and Saturdays game to them will be don't get injured, booked, sent off and avoid a gubbing. Falkirk should go cup tie mode from the start get a 2 - 3 goal lead and play out the game. Our midfield will be crucial in protecting the defence and that means stopping crosses What a game! can't wait
  4. Alloa have play off games to come so the management will have it drummed into them the importance of going canny. Falkirk players have the chance to write themselves into the clubs history book and will play out their skins. Our midfield will be key in protecting a possible make shift defence It's going to be one hell of a day
  5. Lets keep politics and religion out of Falkirk related threads and leave it to the Arse Cheeks. Reminiscent of 'Dawson Park Boy'
  6. With disrespect, you don't know what your talking about and evidently don't have a clue about the finer points about the game.
  7. True! but he has shown what he can do if properly managed. He has under preformed at Hib's for whatever reason and having watched some of their games he's the style of player they require. With one season left they either keep him or cash in I reckon £25-35K and that is outwith our price range sadly.
  8. Very similar to Pat Stanton in style. Comfortable on the ball, good vision and team player that can make and take a goal. Think Hibs will give him a second chance as he is obviously a class act if managed correctly
  9. Customers a customer and if a neutral want's to come to experience the day their £ is welcome. Will be a memorable day out and if 1 in 10 , 1 in 20 changes allegiance to the Bairns job done. Where it may pay off more though is they take their children with them and they decide they want to go back and the club have a good chance of a supporter for life.
  10. They are not fans! they are trophy hunters and should be treated accordingly with parody and disdain, although they are good entertainment value as they justify their support for the arse cheeks. Years ago there was a Rangers fan who drank in the Black Bull Polmont. The more his justification was laughed at, the more absurd he became.
  11. If they are good enough they are old enough. At 18 -19 they should be knocking on the door for a start or sub. Fine judgement to make as was proved with Finn Yeats as an 17-18 year old at Aberdeen and got his break at Falkirk. So i'm for giving them a go in particular if its cover for RB, LB, CB all positions that require them, solve that it leaves more cash available for other positions. Also is signals to other young players that are available that Falkirk is the place to go. Time to be bold it's how we picked up Will Vaulks
  12. Jock Stein gave a more detailed interview on that subject when asked if Celtic being so attacking left them defensibly weak, he answered 'Celtic have a very defensive set up. Have possession in the oppositions last 3rd of the pitch' Kind of self-evident, think it was Kenneth Wolsternholme who did commentator impersonations at the BBC who had nowhere to go after that reply.
  13. Thats right, Kenny Burns at Forest would pick up the ball and drive at the defence, take a shot or play a wall pass. Was an underestimated footballer that his hard man image hid.
  14. There was a Brian Clough interview where he discussed that issue. Recycling possession and having every one of your team capable of being creative. Wearing down the opposition having to work harder and concentrate harder than your team. Sooner or later there is a lapse and you pounce. He was a bugger was Clough but his teams were easy on the eye and there's been some similarities in style between Forest and Falkirk this season in particular breaking out from your own half with pace
