  1. Personally I think the Scottish Championship is a very good league. At least half the teams are fighting for the top, and the other half are fighting to avoid the trapdoor. Makes for very few meaningless games, and although the majority of the players are not exactly Messi or Ronaldo, they give their all and what they maybe lack in skill they make up for in effort. The Scottish Championship is one of the most competitive leagues there are. Much better than the Premiershit and that carry on down south. Probably the closest match to the Scottish Championship for competition (obviously not quality) would be the English Championship. Several teams there are always in with a shout to get up. Incidentally, as a 'neutral-ish' for last nights game I thought it was a decent end to end match. I say neutral-ish because I honestly didnt care who wins until the inevitable scenes at the Excelsior where they try to make it look like Ibrox. The butchers apron everywhere. That coupled with the fact we canny buy a win over Airdrie!
  2. Never understood these crowd w**k posts. What does it matter at the end of the day? All I care about is I am a Raith fan, and I attend the games with my family. That has the effect of them NOT going to follow the arrse cheeks in Glesgae. Size of the crowd does not reflect on how well a team are doing or not. Its more to do with the demographics and catchment areas. An example of demographics would be Livingston. Slap bang in the middle of Edinburgh and the Weeg. Town created for the overspill of Glasgow. Therefore a high percentage are obviously followers of the arse cheeks. Then another relatively high percentage will follow the Edinburgh pretendy arsecheeks. Also the fact they WERE an Edinburgh side (Meadowbank Thistle who also had a shit support), moving to a new town, they have no chance of getting decent crowds. And if you want more proof? Rovers beat Dunfermline 5 times this season. Dunfermlines crowds are still relatively higher than the Rovers. Rovers ran Dundee United close for the league most of the season. Dunfermline were touch and go for a while near the relly playoff, but bounced back to mid table mediocrity. Dunfermline have a bigger cathment area, and it is growing. Dunfermline is the fastest growing TOWN in Scotland population wise and house building wise. So that will continue.
  3. TBF McGrymm would have got us promoted from that league this season with his list of duds he left us with at the time.... Even East Fife could have walked that league (OK maybe a bit ott but more a dig at the EF fanny that trolls our forum). Not a fan of him and his 'football'. Was glad when he exited Starks Park.
  4. Last league game. Been a good season (with the exception of a few against Arbroath and Airdrie). Looking forward to the playoffs, getting to the final. However I think the premier team will be too strong for us over 2 legs to be appearing in FIFA 25. Not too disappointed though as the Championship is by far the best league in Scotland. Hate the Premier and its self preservation attitudes. If we get there, fine. I'll 'put up with it'.
  5. Red though. Hate the red kits. But then I hate the yellow kits too until the Las Palmas inspired one this year........ Pondering whether to do it or not.
  6. Has the away to Ross County in the final dates been sorted? Need to get that in my diary and book the day off..... My record at Victoria Park is pretty good. Played 1, Won 1, Goals For 5, Goals Against 0...... Yes last time I was there we pumped them 5-0 in the first cup game of a certain wee run........
  7. Stanton and Vaughan are signed already for next year dumbass....
  8. In the upcoming close season, we need to get the defence sorted. Thats a given. Lewis Stevenson has been joining the Rovers every pre season for the last 7 years...... Him and Hanlon I would agree though will certainly give us the experience and strength at the back we are lacking. Its the defence that have cost us the title this season. No two ways about it. After the playoffs (which unfortunately I don't think we will win - prem teams too strong and too much advantage), we need to be getting the business done with prioritisation and the defence is n.o 1. The only player I would be scrambling to re-sign would be Matthews. He is the ideal engine room player. Not fancy but does the hard work. As for the rest, I'm ho hum. Easton last played at Tannadice. Since then I have no idea what has distracted him but he looks like a squad player, not even really an impact sub. Dunno the full list of potential departures though so might be another one or two that would be handy to keep....
  9. Up against the brutal Morton, we need to be careful of picking up injuries. Result doesn't matter for the league but does for momentum. Get through the game, lick the inevitable wounds and move on.
  10. My first thought when I saw those hats. They are very '90s'.
  11. Am I alone in feeling a bit meh about this game? Matchday and canny understand why I feel like this....
  12. If Airdrie beat Partick, and then meet us in the semi, I would hope Airdrie would beat St Johnstone or Ross County in the final.... just like any of the Championship teams playing a Prem side who should be down on merit. We canny buy a win against Airdrie and it kind or irks me. (They are a good footballing side though).
  13. Its OK you have made up for it against my lot....... We break a 23 year long hoodoo against ICT, and a long standing losing streak at Somerset, only to gain a new hoodoo against Airdrie! TBH Airdrie are one of the better football playing sides in the league.
