As for the fall out stuff, I don’t think so. Given Murray was fully sacked, there will be nothing holding Murray to keeping quiet about it in terms of an NDA or similar. So if there was a fall out, Murray will speak about in time, when asked. Feel free to come back and tell me I was wrong when that happens, but I doubt that’ll happen.

It’s not Murray that directly and individually signs the players. He had an input, but it done as part of a team along with Potter and Barrowman. So the squad building isn’t done exclusively by the manager which is why him leaving and someone else coming in doesn’t make that much of a difference in terms of the squad that’s been built. They’re only losing 1/3rd of the team - at maximum (could be more people involved).

The insinuation is that we are spending well beyond our means, which has been shown to not be the case. If you make more money you get to spend more money.

Partick Thistle literally signed one of our players in January, who we wanted to keep and has no back up for, because they were willing to give him more money.

Barrowman specifically references sacking Murray not being a financially detrimental decision in his interview. I’d hazard a guess there’s been a clause in the contract stating we’ll pay you x amount of dough should you be relieved of your services. A lot has been spoken about in terms of the strength of the contracts for the players being significantly tightened up. There’s no reason not to think that wouldn’t also extend to the contract for the manager and coaching staff. In short - another non story which fans of opposition clubs are grasping at to try and tear us down. Carry on, though.

I know it’s financially important for us to progress from this group, but the sooner the league stuff starts the better. I cannot get myself excited for these group games, they’re shite.
