  1. They're still contracted to the club and not available as it stands, so it depends what the administrator says from here. However, in the absence of any of them being worth very much, for the most part I think it's highly likely he'll decide they can't afford to sustain their current contracts, in which case they can either take a somewhat lower offer or they'll be free to find themselves other clubs - Livi wouldn't be able to demand a fee for them in those circumstances.
  2. I rate Liam Fox, but we don't have a vacancy in the squad.
  3. The SPL and Premiership / Football League in England only introduced a formal set penalty (the ten point deduction) five years or so ago. The SFL haven't followed suit as yet but have left flexibility. Which I think is fair enough, the circumstances surrounding different administrations are not always the same - Livi have been serial offenders and even if there were a set ten point rule I think they'd still be needing to have the same discussion about the appropriate level of penalty anyway.
  4. Anyone hear Massone interviewed on Radio Scotland a few minutes ago? He's denying the club are in admin.
  5. Well yes, probably but it's not a hard and fast rule. Local government subsidise business in all sorts of ways, particularly high profile ones that bring publicity and people to the area. It's up to them to decide if it's worth it. Clearly it hasn't been lately but they might think it's nonetheless worth perservering with.
  6. McGlynn now saying we won't see Sloan "for some time".
  7. Yeah, I suppose it would. But that's up to them (and possibly to the council tax payers of West Lothian). If they're given some sort of punishment by the league and, much more importantly, run from hereon in a responsible manner and within their budget whatever that entails then I wouldn't have a big problem with it, at least insofar as it's difficult to see what more could be done from where we are now.
  8. True. It does rather imply that the council is aware of at least one other party being ready to put a bid in. But if it's assuming that will be successful then it's a risky strategy to take.
  9. It's not the council's place to talk to other parties though. They might have done so but any potential buyers will still have to go through the administrator (if indeed it does go to administration rather than liquidation) with an offer being put to creditors - the council's vote alone would not be sufficient for any bid to be successful.
  10. They didn't persuade either the FA or other football clubs, both the Football League and the FA were opposed to it.
  11. Yeah, fair point actually. But there's no reason to suppose we'd be any better placed than we were, say, twelve months ago. Which I think is what I may have misread you as having said. I agree with those who are encouraged by pre-season form, you shouldn't read too much into it I know but it never stops me, I'm pretty confident right now. I also agree Weir would be dropped before Tade at the moment, should another striker come in who's worthy of a starting place.
  12. Why "obviously"? Football is never that simple and there are too many imponderables there. It can be very ahrd to tell how well a group of players will spark and fit togther, let alone trying to do so twelve months hence for a group we don't yet know about. And that's even if it's possible to analyse your own chances independently of what's happening at other teams, which it isn't. I don't really see any reason to be so pessimistic about our survival chances this season anyway, we'll be fine.
  13. I'm not bothered about having anything finalised before Saturday, Yes we do want another striker but no rush, I'm comfortable starting the season with the squad we've got.
  14. Impossible to see how they could organise a refund. Maybe we'll play them again next pre-season and reduce the entry fee a bit.
  15. For that matter, anyone know how serious Wedderburn's injury is?
  16. Wales only scored one goal for us after the turn of the year. I liked him too and would sign him back up again today if he were available, but he's not as big a loss as all that. Tade will cause defences a lot of problems, I just hope he gets a couple of early goals to settle him. Having said which, any word on his injury?
  17. I think pro-sportsmen like to call it being "in the zone".
  18. Thing is, and I'm sorry to make this post as repetitive as so many of the others but it appears the message still isn't getting though, but this is being talked about all in the past tense as if Livi fans are suffering for it now. They're not - yet. As it stands they're still maintaining a squad even now that's beyond their ability to pay for (and last time I looked at Livilions there were at least a couple of posters who thought they should be signing Simon Lynch, for example). Unless and until they bite the bullet and take steps to reduce the wage budget to something within their means, as Clyde have had to do in order to survive this summer, then even now and despite everything that's gone before they're still attempting to gain competitive advantage against more prudent clubs by spending money they don't have. Not only do I see no sign of the situation being addressed but I still don't see any great awareness of it among the support (with the odd exception).
  19. Bangladesh have won again, beating West Indies 2-0. I know it's a sub-standard West Indies side because of the strike, but Shakib Al Hasan's performance is nonetheless well worth a mention; captaining Bangladesh for the first time at the age of 22, he took three wickets in the first innings, five in the second, came in to bat at 67/4 chasing 215 and lashed an unbeaten 96 from 97 balls to win it.
  20. Most Wimbledon fans have been Wimbledon fans for a lot longer, and regard the club's legal reconstitution in the interim as incidental to that continuity of support.
  21. I like Inverness actually, looking forward to those games.
  22. We thought you'd find it less annoying than the Dundee method - 700 threads of one post each.
