  1. Able bodied and healthy bus pass holders who act entitled and think they can just push ahead in queues. Always seems to be the rich looking ones as well.
  2. Shopping in Asda today everyone just seems to be in it for themselves no one gives way or apolgise for nearly mowing me down with their trolley and strategically parking their trolley so no one can get past while they take about 3 minutes to make the vital decision of what brand of vinegar to buy.
  3. Looking to set up a home server. Already sort of use my PC as one with plex media server but would prefer a standalone device perhaps a cheap NAS device that would use less power that can be left on pretty much all the time. So something that can run plex and can listen to music or watch stuff on a roku and handle couple of them at same time. Dunno if I'm better maybe getting one that can hold 2 drives so future proof if would like to add another for more storage or backup other drive. Prob be a couple of months before I get it and a hard drive suitable. Any recommendations and rough price for something basic but reliable?
  4. Completely inadequate toilet facilities at my work. Must be about 100 plus guys on the office floor with 2 cubicles in the bog and today one was out of order. I'm one for dumping on company time rather than break time but nearly always occupied and would look like a tit going back and forth or waiting ages for people to finish their turn. It really is a game of thrones. Even if I just go during break lose prob 10 minutes queuing before letting rip. While I'm here lost count of the amount of dress down days and being guilt tripped into giving money to charity even if I turn up in normal work clothes literally have to pay to get into work at least once a week. Not like we get a say what the charities are either.
  5. Prestwick spring to mind for me. Quite a wealthy town so could prob do okay sponsor wise. Just shy of 15,000 population and could maybe get interest from neighboring Heathfield area of Ayr.
  6. A Most Violent Year 7.5/10 Went to Cinema pretty tired and really went tonight as be last chance I would get to see it. A good film and a refreshing new take on the american dream being achieved without bullying others perhaps a naive perspective for the time but interesting. Ex Machine 6/10 Was ok but never felt gripped at any moment and felt like it was wasn't really anything that hadn't been done before and better. Foxcatcher 8/10 Good film Carrell really showed he can be much more than just a funny guy. Birdman 7.5/10 Was a good film but just has been over-hyped. Very well acted but not really a story to tell just an orgy of strong acting and great camera work and some general randomness . It mixes together nicely for what it is.
  7. Elite league is a great competitive league. The north conference has the 4 Scottish teams and Hull so its pretty competitive and anyone can beat anyone. Atmosphere is pretty good and family friendly. It obvious ain't the level of NHL or Olympic hockey but with about 11 or 12 imports in each team the level is pretty decent. In terms of style it is not as physical as the North American style and not as skill full as the continental European style but somewhere in the middle. Looking at this seasons off signings tho I think teams are beefing up a bit in the physical style.

  9. Decent move for the guy and with money involved they will have him in mind to be in and around first team from the get go. With respect to Hull City can't think of many players there going on to bigger and better things. Would like to see him go to maybe a slightly lower level but with a team closer to the top end. The top teams in England and Spain tend to look at top players from France, Netherlands, Portugal rather than the likes of Hull or West Brom.
  10. Curb Your Enthusiasm I'm Alan Partridge Red Dwarf Frasier Still Game
  11. Coming to pc which I have been waiting on but surely not run on my comp so will bide my time and get it in the steam sales for a fiver and by that time maybe have a new comp. Got crazy amount on stream still to play anyway so no point forking out more than a fiver for a game.
  12. Really makes no sense Maggie is all worried about Glen and finding him and even after that still doesn't appear to give a crap about finding her sister.
  13. Puck podcast is pretty good, each show is over 2 hours usually once a week but they know their stuff and a good listen.
  14. If I read right then contracts would be a mx of 5 years which i think would be great. Too many franchises gambling their future in giving players 15 year contracts that takes them beyond the age they are likely to be a key player. American sport and the whole drafting system etc is designed to mean that a struggling team can become title contenders within a couple of years but being tied down to big contracts that count towards your salary cap can be a disaster e.g. look at New York Islanders and Rick Di Piedro. Smaller market teams would have a better chance of getting a top player if it was just 5 years max that way either side is not tied down for too long and it is much more practical to make a trade deal.
  15. I subscribe to NHL vault which works out at less than £4 a month. I don't get to see games live but can watch them in full (minus annoying breaks) and an average game can be seen in about 1 hour 40 mins. Also they have condensed highlights (10 to 12 mins) of each game and by default it is set not to show the final score of the games you are watching. Also you can watch all NHL games for at least the last 3 years in full and there is a classic section where you can watch hundreds of classic games from the 1960's up to the present day. Great value and makes a lot of sense with the time difference and not needing to hang about between periods and being barely awake to enjoy the game. I've picked the Pens v Flyers series to try and watch all or most in full and can catch all the other 1st round games in highlights which is more than just goals that you would get on NHL.com while trying to cover half the screen so not to spoil the score. For the hardcore there is NHL gamecentre which costs a lot more but can offer games live and in high def worth it from the start of the season if you use it enough I guess but I'm happy with vault.
  16. If you mean professional as in full time more or less. All imports will surely be full time and certainly the top 6 or 7 clubs most if not all the home grown players will also be full time with the top guys earning more than some imports. The smaller clubs like Dundee, Edinburgh and Hull have had some home grown players that will have a job outside of hockey, though this may sometimes may be down to their choice if they have a good job and remember they only play hockey for about half a year. If you were looking at a football comparison it is a bit like SFL 1 teams are mostly full time but the further you go down the division the more part time players you will find. Younger players often may be students also imports are attracted over here as they may have played college hockey so want to complete their degrees or do postgrad.
  17. - very funny and good publicity for the team and the leagueI was up in Dundee on Sunday and caught their win over Hull a good result and they are showing steady improvement. Friday night the Caps go up to Dundee on a game live on Sky sports 4 (face off 7.30pm). Should be a good one tow teams battling to get into the play offs. On Saturday I'm hoping I can make it up to the Clan v Dundee game should be a close affair like the last couple games and been a month or so since I last got to Braehead. The Challenge cup is basically split into north and south groups North - Braehead, Dundee, Edinburgh, Belfast, Newcastle South - Coventry, Cardiff, Hull, Nottingham, Sheffield The southern teams played challenge cup games as seperate games from the league but the northern teams decided to just double them up with league games. If a game goes to OT and SO in the league if its also a challenge cup game it counts as a draw in the cup. However Newcastle played Dundee in a seperate challenge cup game at Whitley Bay as they were not due to play each other for a while and to be honest Newcastle really needed to get some money in as they are struggling financially though have had some good results in the last couple weeks working short benched. The league looks interesting this year and really the whole bottom half will have a fight to ensure they are in the play offs and it looks fairly tight still at the top. As for the challenge cup in the northern group Belfast are through to the semi's and Dundee are out. If Newcastle win their game in Belfast on 30th December I think it is they will join the Giants through but if not then its winner takes all as the Clan host Edinburgh at Braehead on the same night.
  18. Newcastle making announcement Tuesday about their future. The thing that has really helped the elite league is there isn't even a decent semi pro standard in Scotland or Northern England where as in southern England they have the EPL which is up to 4 imports I think nothing amazing but probably more sustainable for teams with crowds below 1000. Hull are being ran by Coventry's management team else they would not be in the elite this season. Edinburgh really struggle year to year always with shorter benches so last nights win against Clan was a fantastic result for them. Dundee are pretty new to the elite and found the jump from more or less amateur hockey tricky though some of their Scots done well but imports that came in took longer to adapt. The rink in Dundee is ideal though for elite level if they can get it half full or more and if they perform on the ice that will happen and fans will return from their last era in pro hockey 2001-2005. If one or two of these teams pull out of elite though I could see a chain reaction. These are 4 northern teams if they got maybe Manchester Phoenix and Sheffield Steeldogs from EPL, Fife Flyers and maybe at a push Solway sharks they could probably make a league that would be more sustainable. It is great having 3 elite teams in Scotland and I hope it can work but I would rather that teams still exist and take a step down if they need to. Until there is enough teams and a willingness to setup a better level below Elite for northern teams then teams will keep elite for as long as they can and maybe sadly longer than they should. Hopefully it works out and no more teams go bust. There is a huge gap financially between top and bottom and teams not really following the wage cap if it even exists any more. If Nottingham, Belfast, Sheffield and maybe to a lesser extent Coventry, Cardiff and Braehead get a player injured or turns out crap they can easily afford to get a new import in some with NHL experience. The bottom teams whereas often just have to go a player or two short and to be fair they still manage to pull of some great scores on the odd occasion but overstretch themselves financially just to try and be competitive.
  19. Should be interesting to see what the Scottish viewer gets out of this with it being the English and Welsh Cricket team. Perhaps get coverage of our national football team on terrestrial tv.
