  1. Given this is championship thread I don't think any reconstruction needs change in configuration of the premiership. I think a 12 team championship gives the league some good option. The whole split in the premiership could be more exciting if Celtic and Rangers generally were not so far in front of the rest. Also with only 1 automatic relegation slot there is less jepardby in the bottom half A 12 team championship even with the same system would work so much better. The title is more competitive and the race for play off positions with teams playing each other right at the end. Take this season that finished early. For Arbroath getting into the top 6 would be a great achievement and the feeling of knowing they are safe at the moment of the split no matter how close teams below were and the bigger crowds and prize money in the last few games. The top 4 out of 6 with either automatic or promotion play off spots. Bottom half likewise would have advantages. With a bigger league at the very least we could have 2 automatic relegation positions and let play offs be just for league 1 teams to come up or 3rd bottom team goes into play off where 2nd bottom currently do. It still keeps the league mostly full time in fact more opportunity for teams to establish themselves and develop at that level. Once we get beyond 24 teams in the top two tiers I think then the quality in tier 2 would significantly dilute but this would freshen up the league and create a better product to sell. Better than what we have currently and we don't need premier to take the lead on how we shape our division.
  2. Seems like the have turned these games into what sticker albums used to be. To be fair £80 for ultimate plus if that gives someone who needs all the shiny extras then fair enough. The base game should be much lower maybe £30 especially with it being digital version though 40 prob in line with consoles. EA access for 20 quid a year prob makes more sense shame pc one doesn't do NHL. Maybe I'll get another console one day if sky go stops on the ps3.
  3. The pre order on Fifa is on it now too steam. £54.99 for basic edition for £79.99 for ultimate plus same price on origin give it a month after releases and will be on cd keys for £30.
  4. Rumours of Leeds and Bristol City sniffing about Michael Rose of Coventry City. Did he not ask for a 5% sell on clause to thank Ayr for his development so maybe a 6 figure sum given Coventry are now in Championship they will prob ask for decent fee. If he is that good surely must be in consideration for Scotland given the dross n depth we have at centre back.
  5. EA seem to be putting a lot of their stuff on Steam now even a pre order for Madden 21. Would love if they could port NHL to pc, crazy there has been no ice hockey game on PC other than management games since 2009.
  6. I don't play but an ice hockey fan. I know some places do a learn to play hockey courses probably for those can skate at reasonable level. I know Dundee had it so likely something at Murrayfield at some point assuming you are in Edinburgh? Murrayfield ice rink website has details of the rec teams and contact details for link itself probably worth checking that out and following them all on social media. I think some courses or rec teams you can borrow some equipment some maybe worth trying it out a bit before fully committing.
  7. No way for colt teams don't even want them in the challenge cup. Not sure how it will do that much for Celtic and Rangers they would be better loaning to other premier teams as they do now and championship teams. 14 in each of the top 2 tiers is a lot. WIth all due respect to Montrose and East Fife if they do get to the 2nd tier they need to get there on merit like Alloa and Arboath have. Championship will become mostly part time soon enough. To address the current situation so at least no one is worse off that they would be otherwise make premiership 14 for a season let Hearts and Inverness in. Bottom 3 got down and 11th as usual goes in play off. After that we have 12 team 2nd tier which is probably better as end of season split there will be more meaningful. Say even in normal circumstances if the championship said they wanted 12 team league would anyone below have an real issue.
  8. I'm surprised they don't space them all out more. Is there a reason why 5 games on the saturday are overlapping?
  9. They can only make an informed judgement once Doncaster's BMI and his age in relation to his spouse are established.
  10. Top flight I can see more likely to go with the 6 and 8 split as 2 extra games for bottom half teams will help mitigate finances. With Europa league 2 and perhaps another Euro slot also maybe some sort of Euro play offs to give team at top of bottom half something to play for. For lower league Split would be better lot to play for in terms of title and play off spots. If we could get just get 2 teams going straight down from each division then bottom side of split teams will not need to get involved in play offs to stay up so could even in lower league play a couple more. If 14-14-14 did happen which is unlikely 6-8 split in all 3 divisions. Challenge cup cut out colts and invite so many highland and lowland to make up numbers.
  11. As I said in other championship thread regardless of what happens with this vote which looks likely to not go through unless altered, the championship going to 12 teams could be a good thing. If we replicate the split system as premiership has assuming we get no changes on play offs etc the top 6 play each other and lot to play for potentially for title and league. They could set it so top 2 before split plays each other on final day. Likewise at the bottom half. Even pre split how delighted for example would Arbroath have been to secure top 6 position knowing they won't have relegation fears and more likely bigger away gates etc.
  12. We probably don't need 4 tiers at national level especially give the influx to West and East in the pyramid from the juniors. With this 14-14-14 we are moving up 6 teams into a mostly full time setup. The Championship already with 2 part time teams, out of the 6 coming up would have another 4 part time teams. In some ways it will give stability for clubs to stay or go full time and a good safety net but on the other hand it may make more teams consider going and staying part time. Maybe a plus for clubs like Ayr, Morton, QOS is they have more of a cushion to bring through young players. Maybe like of Airdrie and Clyde can start to build up again. Though away gates on average likely to drop for current members. We need to see the play off relegation proposals. With 14 team leagues at least 2 need to go down automatically from any league in my opinion. Fair enough only champions get automatic promotion but play offs should just be for the next 3 or 4 teams in that league. Bottom 2 in 3rd tier need to go down. Longer term many of current league 2 teams will regret making it so hard to get back in the league if they keep it as it is. I'm not sure why premiership will vote in enough numbers for this. They are guaranteed 3 games against Celtic and Rangers currently and same with Edinburgh derbies. Any split could reduce that to 2. Livy, St Johnstone, Hamilton and St Mirren may like the bigger numbers as better chance to stay up or get back up but the rest will take convincing except Hearts. Though the difference is going to be bigger as in any given season a third of championship will be part time teams. A bigger championship even just to 12 teams I think could be good with top 2 tiers of 12 clubs. It keeps it mainly full time league but still platform for elite part time clubs.
  13. Got PES 2019 for £2.99 on cd keys so it for my friend as well. Think its gone up to £3.99 . There is updates easily enough to get to get real names and things. Online activity is very low so best if you know someone else who can play. They are planning shutting servers in september I think.
  14. Premiership 12 - bottom 2 got down automatically Reason: They won't change much at most maybe a concession on 2nd relegation spot though that is being hopeful Championship - 12 teams - Same split system as Premier. Promotion play offs a semi final for 3rd v 4th and runner up players the winner. 2 auomatic relegation Reason: Helps make full time a bit more sustainable. The split with 5 games to go would boost conclusion with lot to play for either end League 1 - 12 teams - Promotion play offs work same way as above. 2 automatic relegation. Reason: Still need a fully national division for top part time teams League 2 - 12 team but split in confernces for North and South with 6 each. Play your own confernce times = 20 games and other conference twice = 12 games. Conference winners go up automatically. Highest place team not promoted plays league 1 10th team. Bottom 2 in each conference down automatically. Reason: Acts as a hybrid from regional to national football. Still under SPFL yet gives 6 more teams membership. Highland/Lowland Champs go up. Runner up with best Points/match ratio gets bye to play off final, other runnerup plays league 2 team with worst record not relegated in semi final Reason: we need more movement especially with big influx of juniors teams that drop out of SPFL need a decent hot of getting back if they can and clubs shoudl find their level generally.
  15. Longer term regardless of what happends here could there not be something in having a bigger championship. Why 12 teams in the top flight and not also in our league. WIth bigger numbers I would relegate 11th championship team automatically. The split could be good.
  16. So addicted to this game I need to force myself off esp when getting up to work from home in the morning. Took me while but got ayr promoted after 4th season. Weirdly the summer before that season offered Free agent 33 year old Alan Shearer 3 mil signing on fee and he accepted as player coach. He had scored about 30 goals in epl that previos season and in top 5 average rating. He scored 40 that season I think for me. I won the treble the league challeneg cup and scottish cup. Scottish cup was weird beat Stranraer in last minute replay semi at broadwood then beat Dundee in final. Prem I'm 9th 12 clear of bottom with 10 games left though only won 4 or 5 games had a lot of draws though. Finding it hard to settle on formations and players not cutting it as well as I thought. Least I have managed to clear debt with some sales. Dont think I got any money for 3 rounds of uefa cup or my bigger home gates
  17. The juniors not long ago changed from regionalised below championship with Ayrshire league and 2 central divisions. Was the main reason for going with 4 tiers due to central teams unhappy about potentially being a further tier below than the weakest Ayrshire teams? Was it to facilitate more competitive divisions and teams finding their level more?
  18. I didn't mean replicate next season I meant the eventual plan to over a few years turn 4 conferences into 4 tiers gradually. I missed the east part.
  19. Assuming they go with 4 conferences initially would they then just look to replicate the juniors with 4 tiers? I see the East had 3 but now a premier and 2 conference below that but looking at tables on wiki no plan to change it next year whether 3 tiers or regionalise below top of east.
  20. Great to see the west joining pyramid. Wonder if SJFA will put restriction on how far a team can be in the pyramid and play in the cup or we could see in a few years a league 1 team putting out their reserves for a midweek cup game.. Junior cup should be retained but turned into truly national cup for all within the pyramid below the SPFL as well as North Juniors and North Caledonian leagues if they wish to take part.
  21. Should come to agreement for season to be completed. At least then there will be sufficient time to plan start date and length of the next season even if just playing shorter season.
  22. Hi folks. Been a while since I've posted anything here probably a year or so. In that last year I have made a lot of progress in losing about 3 stone and starting and sticking with open uni course. What I'm struggling with now I guess is a kind anxiety or social isolation I suppose. I feel I have more confidence in being more assertive so trying to sit with folk during break at work and even going to punk gigs locally here on my own, book club, lifelong learning classes and well you see familiar faces so I feel I am making a real effort to start conversations etc. I feel folk are polite enough and stuff but I'm just of sort of feeling lost. I'm 33 and would just like some sense of community and belonging would be nice . I just try to keep moving whether that's doing some running at nights or reading but if I stop and I'm not doing that I'm dwelling maybe overthinking all the stuff above. I really like Dundee as place to live but feels like it hasn't taken to me if that makes any sense.
  23. There will be the business case of the astro if they can make enough renting it out and saving on training elsewhere, academy etc. Being at level where it is a challenge to maintain full time football year to year it must be tempting beyond the initial outlay. The purist fan in me says no but if I was running the club and see the likes of Hamilton, Livy, Alloa and Montrose punching above their weight I wonder how much that is a factor.
  24. Makes sense they get Simpsons on disney plus seems to biggest thing that has put folk off prospect of it not being there. I don't think Sky boxsets have ever had rights to show on demand? Easy enough for folk to get us version via VPN already. Probably an opportunity for Sky and channels on it's platform to still cover shows that would have been on Hulu in US. Disney can probably make more auctioning them between sky, netflix and amazon than taking the risk here. I've had a look on US version the content is reasonable though could get through lot of it quickly if you have a lot of spare time but the price point is good especially if you share with people. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the nat geo stuff.
  25. Yeah I've gone for it. The 4 devices allowed at same time makes it great value shared between folk. Mrs will prob use it more than me.
