  1. Get the feeling he had to scrape the barrel with budget Morton had. £300 a week average wage would arguably get better squad going part time on that budget. Then he was asked to make further cuts.

Fm 21 on gamepass both pc and xb tomorrow. I
  3. Heard Houston on radio couple years ago said he was looking to wind down didn't want to manage anymore but still be involved in the game but without the pressure and time.
  4. Levein is a good talker and last 2 club jobs he has had new owners that had no experience of running a football club and talked his way into the board room for both. He has reputation of overwhelming them with information to stage that they give him free reign on lot of stuff and money. Squad turnover at hearts was crazy. Prob be decent coach at our level of he stuck to just that but he won't
  5. Petrie has done great job at Montrose but wonder if he wants to go into full time football and probably would have by now. Can we really offer a wage that will beat his day job and Montrose job salary combined and enough security and want him to move to West Coast. I think fair enough a manager starting in part time football maybe kerr would have been better doing that but really they need to make step up with 3 years. Likes of Goodwin learned his trade at Alloa for decent time but was only 2 or 3 years probably with plan to get into full time football and any day job just to pay bills. Think these days it's that bit harder if you have not been active in full time football and have day job outside the sport to do for 3 years plus you lose touch somewhat. Ian McCall as far as I'm aware was working within media covering the game during his time out at least. Would like someone of experience realistically going to be someone who has been sacked from their last job at a slightly higher level but has shown they have something about them. Prob candidates would be likes of Pressley, Kettlewell, McIntyre, Canning.
  6. Celtic will need to get their act together as to who is making decisions and if they are going to have director of football. Worst thing they can do is try to get someone who has played or grew up a fan. He is very reserved and the limelight and goldfish bowl of Celtic v Rangers unlikely to appeal to him. Is his family not based down south anyway so international job ideal for him. If it did happen then certainly don't think anything agreed until after March internationals and probably still let him take charge during the tournament. Might be worth giving Scott Gemmell opportunity as part of coaching team there to shadow and then give him the world cup campaign.
  7. The existing junior cup could become this and also helps ensure the top junior teams that joined the senior pyramid can continue to participate and not have any fixture clash. Thinking a bit outside the box have a finals day in March with this final and challenge cup final played in the same ground back to back with cheap tickets really showcase that non top flight football can attract a good crowd.
  8. We are doing ok this season. I think there is more to come from this team and with decent core of 2 year contracts. Last 2 years of being in top 4 has been great progression but always difficult especially with major rebuild this season. The improvements around the ground and the social hub I think will really help encourage the team to spend more time in and around the ground. The covid situation is tough especially where we have 3 players up from down south not being able to go out, lot of change in the team and the night outs going for meals etc makes it that bit harder to click. Last season was first time in 16 years we had spent more than a single season in the 2nd tier. It is great the ambition in increasing but a boring midtable finish this season is not a disaster if we making the right calls about the wider infrastructure of the club. The new owner also has this time to bed in
  9. Really hope Colt teams never happen in the current Pyramid. If they are going to do it though now is the time when fans aren't in grounds or able to gather to protest. Can only hope there would be same vocalness about opposing the new co Rangers from skipping starting from the bottom. Celtic and Rangers think their reserves are too good to play other full time reserves so what why are they so keen on this? They would be using the loan system much more if they thought the lower SPFL leagues were place for their players to develop. SPFL though does need to open up. Increase of 6 clubs is fine but make them all from existing clubs and on merit. Surely clubs like Albion Rovers, Brechin, Cowdenbeath must be thinking a few more teams and longer term more promotion slots into the league might help them should relegation which is fairly likely for them in the next few years whatever shape the league looks. They could even be self serving and push for say 2 teams to come in each year for 3 years and in this time have no relegation.
  10. 2nd tier of 18 is a lot even with 10 team top flight. At that stage I think teams a few teams Ayr, Morton, QOTS, Raith, ICT, Partick and Falkirk have a longer think about remaining full time clubs. Only needing to be in top 15 to stay up doesn't really give that emphasis in competition to improve. 2nd tier is the most important in any system and depends what we want out of it. I would like something that allows sustainable competitiveness with a mainly full time league with well ran/ ambitions part time clubs able to make the step up. At most I think we can add 2 more it may add a little bit more incentive for the likes of Airdrie, Cove, Clyde to have full time ambitions but not dilute the league to being mostly part time which causes what I suggest above. A 12 team split in tier 2 would work well with play off and relegation run ins. I do like the amount you have getting relegated from each league though top flight realistically I think 2 going down automatically and play offs only involving tier 2 teams is best we can hope for.
  11. Returned Czechia v Croatia tickets. Works out quite well anyway as 125 Euros x 2 was bit much for a neutral especially trying to get in somewhere to watch Scotland after. Tough one with Scotland v Czechia but may always regret it if I returned them while still chance at Hampden. Surely if they moved venue if there is still travel restrictions that make it impossible to go if following official government guidelines then it would be tough for them to enforce that throughout all of Europe. If moved to destination not suitable and fans allowed then should hopefully be able to get money back and someone else can go. It is a real shame as this spreading the tournament across Europe was an interesting prospect and hopefully it doesn't get ruled out in future just because of Covid. With 24 team tournament don't see the need for hosts automatically qualifying in future. Rotate it between dedicated solo hosts e.g. Germany, France, Spain, Italy, England, Russia and if they don't qualify they deserve to get the piss ripped. Every 2nd tournament then look at a city format mainly for the other nations.
  12. Dallas Stars first 2 matches postponed due to Covid. Columbus have 19 players miss practice out of the 40 in their camp. Teams need to play 56 game season in 12 weeks so not much built in if things get bad or a team gets effected by needing to isolating a couple separate occasions or even fall behind games if opponents do so. Knowing America though elite atheletes and those that can afford it will probably get priority with the vaccine.
  13. Some sort of Atlantic cup with following best teams not to have qualified for Europe through their leagues. With following teams doing group phase to get 4 clubs to join last 16. Livingston, Bronby, HJK, AIK, Odd, Utrecht, Mechelen, St Patrick's, Famalicão, Crusaders, Stjarnan, Caernarfon Town The best clubs from these nations that been eliminated from Europe prior to Christmas would be eligible to compete in the knockout stages. Take this year for example I will assume anyone that had finished 3rd in europa e.g. Standard Liege would have dropped into conference league so not giving them spot in this. So teams that got the furthest but not in Euro comp after xmas (where two teams from same nation out on same round highest ranked in previous season get the slot) would join Atlantic cup in the last 16 Dundalk, Cetic, FC Midtjylland, Gent, Willem II, are examples of plus the others from the 12 nations involved. Last 16 - 4 teams get in from the earlier qualifying rounds. They will be in separate pot so can only play each other in last 16 thus guaranteeing 2 quarter final slots for theydiddy clubs that didn't qualify for Europe. For likes of Livy this year would have been a real opportunity to have a go at getting to final 8. Also good if we have years where Celtic and Rangers for example in Europe after Christmas and the financial bonus of that the next best Scottish team e.g. Aberdeen would get a boost from last 16 tie in this.
  14. Enjoyed The Sanctuary probably best episode of this series. The premise of this series is good but I think they have too many characters. Michael is pretty much lucky loose cannon and they are backing her up as she will just do her thing if they don't. Would have made more sense if she went off with book and still follow them along with discovery's story and they could come together at the end of the season. Not sure Georgiou works as a regular cast member feels like they are kind of rehashing the tyler situation using her this season. If Michael and book went off for a bit could see her going with them and could work but she works better just popping up every couple episodes. Hope they take opportunity with the spore drive to go to gamma/delta quadrants revisit where voyager and DS9 went. Would like to know the fate of the borg.
  15. Got PES 21 for 9.79 for steam from cdkeys and enjoying it. Other than that picked up quite a lot of oldish games mostly around £2 mark and none over a fiver from either steam, cdkeys or gamesplanet. Sonic Mania for £3.37 seemed like a good deal.
  16. aye I've got PC version will need to play about with it. The added Scottish stadiums look really good is there somewhere I can get them.
  17. Michelle Mone would report us for leaving the academy players out in the cold
  18. Sadly the patch was only created on PC. Consoles are rubbish for modding. Someone may convert our patch into an Option File for the PS4 but until then its PC only I'm afraid. Hi mate where would I find Scottish option files for PES 2021 thanks. Is there one that also does stadiums seen good vids on youtube for some of the grounds.
  19. In terms of fans getting in the ground Somerset there is decent room to space out assuming idiots don't ignore and put whole thing in jeopardy. Main concern would be people entering and exiting the ground around the same time as would be an element of bottle-necking. Would be okay for a few hundred but would likely require stewarding costs of a bigger than normal match.
  20. I'm good that way was just doing labouring job for few weeks. I do some dumbells in garage 3 days a week and decent amount of running lost about 4 stone in last 2 years. Was finding it hard to keep to that routine on top of physical job with long hours so should work out better.
  21. Got offered a purchasing job and offered start date of 14th December. so have stopped knackering labouring work I had been doing and get 2 and half week break before starting new job. Back of the net
  22. Definitely prefer running in the light though when the nights get long an evening running around sunset is nice, Though not one for going super early so at moment late morning/early afternoon for me till I get work.
