  1. THE ONLY Scottish Championship podcast out there is released tonight. Episode 5
  2. Trying to navigate the away ticket section but can't get option for OAP and student which does appear on the home section as £14 Where do we go to buy them in person so we get the correct ticket?
  3. Episode 4 now out: https://linktr.ee/fbprpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=18cbe624-e4e7-48b0-924c-144b8f
  4. Meant to type condemed so appreciate could have been taken wrongly so apologies if read that way.
  5. Really saddened to hear from someone I know who wasn't even going to the game but lives near the ground that they spat on by a Hearts fan on the street just because they were transgender. Clearly majority of folk going to game would be disgusted by that and I know plenty good folk that are Hearts fans and hopefully this horrific behaviour is condemed by the club and supporter groups. Made typo in original version of this post meant condemed.
  6. Was also at the Downfield v Carnoustie game. Downfield were dominant though can see Carnoustie are a decent team if that makes sense. McCartney was a menace to Carnoustie defence anytime the ball dropped. Honourable mention to Connor Coupe who got the goal he deserved. The left back for Downfield was very good on the ball slowing down play and good distribution of the ball. I seen Downfield at Craigie 3 or 4 weeks ago they edged it 1 nil certain a team that takes a chance when they get it but looked much more convincing today. Looking forward to making a few more midlands league games as a neutral.
  7. Episode 3 is up. This week we are delighted to welcome Hamish Ferguson who covers the match day social media coverage at Dunfermline. Hamish gives us a great insight into his role and being a Pars fan. We all look back at last weekends games. https://linktr.ee/fbprpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=18cbe624-e4e7-48b0-924c-144b8f
  8. Episode 2 now up. We review the weekend past was painful having to watch our game. We also look ahead to round 2 fixtures. https://linktr.ee/fbprpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=18cbe624-e4e7-48b0-924c-144b8f
  9. link for the show This is the linktree so should hopefully direct you on most common podcast apps etc. Last couple shows are music related. We are looking to do another Quitongo corner episode next week after first round of matches.
  10. Bottom of pyramid is at tier 10 in the west. Maybe playing in the reserve league would be of more benefit than against Campbeltown.
  11. On a strictly per matchday there is likely to be a drop off in attendance. Though in balance to this probably bonus saying to kit supplier and sponsors etc that we will have some games on live tv. Not saying it is an amazing deal but the exposure of having 20 championship games on free to air tv does count for something. I have friends of teams not in our league that just have general interest in Scottish football so often watch as doesn't clash with other games.
  12. Yeah agree with sentiment of most that using term "black b*****ds" just doesn't sit right and can easily just change a word to dirty of filthy. The HIV one to be fair is even more blatant and is obvious homophobic. Very sad to especially with so many younger voices you hear sing it. Both to be fair would make me feel hesitant of bringing friends who happened to be black or gay to matches.
  13. Hi I'm Graham (Ayr fan). Myself and Davie (Dundee United) are part of a collective that produce the Football Beer and Punk Rock Podcast. This season in addition to the main show we have another show. We have created a Scottish Championship ONLY show called 'Quitongo Corner' and the first episode was released yesterday (14th July). We talk our VERY early league predictions, talk ins and outs for each club and preview the first group fixtures of the Viaplay Cup. Hope ya enjoy! The link below should hopefully get you the feed otherwise search football beer and punk podcast. https://linktr.ee/fbprpodcast?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=18cbe624-e4e7-48b0-924c-144b8f
  14. Definitely this. Within reason I think base figure of £200k if there is enough teams after him is not too crazy but taking 20 or 30k less and getting 20% sell on would be worth it for sure. Its progress we have players on 2 years contracts rather than 1 and sell ons are the way we are going to make significant money in the longer term. Hamilton Accies a decade ago are good example of this. If we could combine that with St Johnstone like hospitality revenue beyond match days we could really make sustainable progress.
  15. Premier - 12 teams - fine as it is. Top 2 always dominate but split system is good for fight for euro sports and relegation. Championship - 12 teams. Use same split as premier. Play offs if we are to keep current format as premier teams unlikely budge make them 1 legged but final gets played at a a neutral venue. 2 automatically relegated.10th team goes into play off League 1 - 12 teams - same as above League 2 - 18 teams- 3 automatic relegation and 15th placed team into play offs Highland, Western Lowland, Eastern Lowland - Champs go up, promotion play offs quarters one leg 2nd v 3rd of each league. 3 winners join 15th team from league 2 in semis 2 legged semi's. Final is neutral venue. B teams into the sea Play off final day - Get Hampden / Lesser Hampden - carnival atmosphere,. Like how Elite league does in ice hockey at play off finals weekend. Could have lot of events going on that the casual football fan would maybe go to even if team not there. League 2 final - 12pm - lesser Hampden, Championship final 2.30pm - Hampden, League 1 final 5pm lesser Hampden, 7.30pm Premiership final - Hampden
  16. It's difficult one the club is in much better place than when he started. Top half finish would be seen as good seen but clearly disappointing if we don't make the play offs. On paper he has done a good job and decent first job to put on the CV. If his medium to long term plan is to get job nearer to where his family stay his CV looks decent after this season. The championship will be much stronger next season though and expectations of supporters are higher now and say he stays on and leaves October time with us at lower end of the table could be harder for his perspective to get job near his family. I think he and club need to have clear conversation on this. Either shake hands go separate ways and give each other glowing reference or continue but need to give him a contract beyond next summer to show his commitment is matched by the club.
  17. Did seem bit weird they weren't frantically testing everyone as could well be more than one changeling on board. Starfleet would surely have a regulation since the dominion war they could dig out. Could have occurred off camera I suppose. Reckon when Admiral Picard override Shaw's orders he had lost what lingering authority he had. Given the way he spoke to Picard probably lost lot more respect from his crew. Feels like he will get some sort of redemption by sacrificing himself at some point to save the crew.
  18. Its amazing how up and down things can go so quickly. The standard of the championship has been much lower lower this year and we have benefitted from this. Expectations have grown very quickly. Over the piece looking at where we were when Bullen took over and where we are now that does deserve praise though can be mitigated against what I have just said. The middle of midfield is our big weakness I don't have confidence in it so not surprised the manager feels the same and more should have been done to fill that area. The rest of the squad we have a core there that we can build on and longer contracts is way to go for proper stability at the club. For Bullen we really need to at least make the play offs and getting to semi final of play offs would be a good season. Next season is going much tougher I would expect both Dunfermline and Falkirk to come up and with much bigger budget that us and same with premier team that comes down and I expect one of QP or Dundee to be in our league next season. So long as Bullen is happy and committed then I would happy to give him another season. Though can understand if being away from his family will start to take its toll. In fairness if he got us into play offs a year after us just staying up and a cup quarter final (draw helped) then on paper that looks good to a league 2 / conference team in England and that might suit his work life balance. Realistically next season with the teams I expect coming into the league a top half finish would be good season. Hopefully with new stand we can increase revenue opportunities and get squad signed on longer term contracts we can start to get fees in for players (percentage clauses probably the best earner longer term). We need to build for the long term. We've not finished in top 3 in tier 2 in over 20 years and most of that time we have been stuck in tier 3 and part time. While the town is crumbling at least the football club are showing healthy signs of growth.
  19. Title was always going to be a tough one but the way the team has struggled the last month has been very disappointing given what they have shown they are capable of. Middle of the park was key area in January that we should have put a bit of investment in and brought in some experience and grit. There is a decent core there that we can take on to next season though I think the league will be a higher standard next year. I can see Dunfermline and possibly Falkirk coming up and both with double gates we have in a league with lot less travelling support, they will both have good budget, the team that comes down from the premiership I would expect to be a lot stronger than either Dundee or Queens park this season. I think Cove will be bottom and whoever stays up out of Hamilton and Arbroath to be stronger next season. Morton seem to have found a manager that works well for limited resources they have. Inverness I expect to get a bit weaker given their location and crowds they get combined. I think just about every team next season will have a realistic goal of competing for top 4. Budget wise we will likely be slightly above Hamilton and Morton and on par with Raith and ICT but behind 4 or 5 teams from Dunfermline, Falkirk, Dundee, Dundee utd, Ross County Killie, QP and Partick.
  20. Aye but it we just win the cup and get a bye in the group stage.
  21. Aye was just thinking about that song when club done their post today. Absolutely horrible and anyone singing clearly homophobic. Needs to be drowned out anytime it starts. Heck club should put announcement on PA if sung today to make clear that the club are against this and will remove idiots that are caught singing it. Haven't noticed opponents singing that in about a decade though I don't make every game. No place for biggots.
  22. Pretty sure at least some of these leagues show all their matches on tv so maybe more overall less per match.
