  1. Much the same in the group games at Fir Park, where there was much love for Ghana.
  2. Born in Melbourne, holds a UK passport and has a US green card. So think that make the answer d) all of the above.
  3. Anyone seen the fesTive glasses they have up for grabs on their Facebook page? Beginning to look a lot like ChrisTmas...
  4. It sure is....down with footballers... "We've had to tweak things, we haven't been quite as physical, we haven't had people that were rattling about, we have had to put more footballers in the team due to injuries and circumstances."
  5. I'm sure 81 was a Saturday 3pm job when John Robertson (who normally takes them...) scores the pen.
  6. Reckon so - think it is Wembley 83 - starting line up found here
  7. Was just going to reply with Brian Scott - fairly sure it is him.
  8. Long shot but was based on memory of John Gardiner wearing a goalie kit not unlike that. Numbers were that style on Umbro kits then too. Plus faintly the tops of the socks might have diamonds on them...pass the magnifying glass! Meadowbank might be a good shout.
  9. it's an Umbro kit I think - outside chance it could be Motherwell's from 84/86.
  10. Well played. Does rankle that Liam Fox is not automatically prefaced with "disgraced".
  11. This thread sprung to mind this morning as I was listening to the Guardian's Football Weekly podcast and they handed over to Hayley McQueen for her expert insight on all things Scottish football. Every bit as bad as you might imagine.
  12. Once you factor in the money that goes to Les H/John B on transfer fees on top of that 40% (if true) it becomes an even more challenging decision making process for the club.
  13. I would get a second opinion on that given the changes that came in on 9 December 2010.
  14. And in the end it all led to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIPs3S_ZSWQ
  15. Really good game last night, Queensland deserved winners in the end. NSW showed enough in the second half to suggest that game 2 in Sydney will be very competitive. I've got tickets for game three at Suncorp so partly hoping that it's still in the balance by then, although seeing a 3 nil would be nice too.
  16. Aussies announced their Ashes squad this morning, pretty much as expected. No place for Symonds. Cricinfo clicky
  17. Went along last night, great atmosphere although the game never came close to reaching the heights of Sunday's. Kid sitting in front of me had a Shane Warne top on that through cunning use of a black marker pen had suddenly become a Warner top. Might have been different outcome if Duminy had taken the catch from Hussy. His catch before that was outstanding; didn't expect him to miss the relatively easier one, maybe lost the ball in the lights a bit. Great partnership at the end between Hussey and Cameron White to see the Aussies over the line. The Gabba outfield was in some state though, did the commentators say what the problem was?
  18. Bloc Party tonight, open air thing so hopefully the forecast rain will stay away.
  19. No way was it a sell out, there can't have been more than a hundred people in the seats. They weren't even checking the tickets as you went into the standing bit like they usually do. Bloc Party were tremendous it has to be said. Why don't they play 2 More Years live though?
  20. Are the Holloways not supporting the Rakes at the Barras tomorrow night?
