  1. Decent fixture. Hopefully they'll bring some reasonable numbers up with them.
  2. Breaking news out of this doesn't sound good. My thoughts are with those who are affected.
  3. My OP suggested a £15-£17-£19 sliding scale so - on average - the home support pays £17. You would not lose or gain a single penny if you went to every home game and paid on the gate. If the much-lauded former Director Robertson was still on board, he would undoubtedly advocate maximising revenues wherever possible....
  4. ....and how much will Queens and Dumbarton fans be charged to get into the Big Hoose? What goes around should come around, imo - we shouldn't be a soft touch for Sevco/Hibs/Hearts fans wanting to see their teams on the cheap.
  5. I said 'once-in-a-generation', but thanks for misquoting. Anyway, I stand by it. You're correct about Sevco, but in all likelihood that still leaves the other two in the champions/playoff positions. The BoD have to maximise income wherever and whenever they can in order to maintain our competitiveness both on and off the 3G. We've got guaranteed income this season, but no guarantee of a bumper payday the season after next. I say make hay!
  6. I don't want to blow my own horn here - if I could do that then I would never leave the house. Boom tish!! Anyway, I still believe that my three-way charging plan adds up. If you are unable/unwilling to buy a season ticket, then my plan is still going to result in 'real' fans paying an acceptable £17 per game to go and watch every home league fixture at Palmerston. Visiting Hibs/Hearts/Sevco fans would be paying more to come to Palmerston but, tbh, they're used to those sort of prices anyway.... This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the club to maximise income from league fixtures, so as long as the home support isn't being ripped off then that's my only concern.
  7. How about a variable rate? £15 for, say, Cowden, Alloa and Dumbarton, £17 for Livvy, Raith and Falkirk and top whack £19 for the rest. Is that viable?
  8. In 1710, Louis XIV outlawed the production of garlic wine - or 'eclat de lune' in French - as he was fearful that the hallucinatory effects of such a beverage would result in a peasant's revolt. To this day it is still illegal to ferment, bottle and consume garlic-based wine in France (and many former French colonies.)
  9. A 30-year-old who spent last season playing in the Unibond Division Four Carlisle and District Methodist Sunday League? No thanks.
  10. Most of the vets listed above could pay for the young lads' flights with the money saved from their EBTs...
  11. I don't care what Baird does for us next season so long as he nets another couple of winners against Sevco
  12. The inventor of the 'vehicle reversing' warning sound got the idea for his invention when a truck reversed over him.
  13. Dappy from N-Dubz is an accomplished backgammon player. In 2011, he reached the final of the Bahamas Open Championship playing under the pseudonym Baron Vernon Claude Gnud.
  14. Is it too early to start playing Guess the Opening Day Fixture? If not, I'll say Raith away.
  15. Yeah, go on then. Sevco seem to be doing the ultimate in tribute acts, what with all the speculation linking them with Boyd and Kenny Miller, so Nicky might not have too many opportunities next season - a return to Palmerston could be ideal for all concerned. Maybe I'm missing something with Hemmings, but I'm not too excited by the lad from what I've seen - maybe he looks better playing in a better team.
  16. Can only echo all of the above - well done to the management and BoD.
  17. I'd say he's got a season or two left in him at Championship level. He's obviously not going to play an entire 40-game season, but he'd be a valuable addition to the squad if we're not going to have either Young or Kerr.
  18. Bring back National Service, purely for the benefit of these wee delinquent f***ers. They seem to have a massive axe to grind re foreigners, so why not make their dreams come true - give them a rifle each and pack them off to Afghanistan or Syria or wherever the next 'project' is. On a serious note, you do have to wonder what depths of humanity spawned these wretched creatures...
  19. Does Zander's new deal at StJ mean that he is more likely - or otherwise - to be back here on loan next season? I've checked the StJ transfer thread on no-one's giving a definitive yay or nay.
  20. Have to say I thought Higgins and Mitchell might have been on their way - glad we've got them tied down for at least another season. Bar Kerr, I'm not sure if I'd offer deals to any of the others whose contracts expire soon tho,
  21. Jamie MacDonald released by Hearts... I'm sure he won't be short on offers, but I'd gladly take him back here.
  22. Glad to see we seem to be going back to white shorts for the home kit. I never liked the all-blue ensemble. I'll also take a white away shirt over a yellow one anyday.
