Was the Deas one where he was last man and he gave a pen tho it was outside the box ?

From the Stirling Albion website match report:

"Stirling were awarded a penalty when Deas brought down MacDonald and referee Scott Lambie pointed to the spot, although the highlights suggested the contact was just outside the box. Dylan Mackin coolly converted the spot-kick for his fourth goal of the season."

    :D

For a pre season kick about that was pretty lively last night. I don't think we have ever won a game when Scott Lambie was ref. Enough said. There can't have been many penalty shoot outs where a keeper saves three and the other keeper none and still finishes on the losing side. Saturday was good and this was better, all very encouraging.

Matches that Scott Lambie has reffed involving us....

    Elgin 1 v 0 Cowden

    Cowden 0 v 3 Annan

    Albion 0 v 0 Cowden

Cove 3 v 1 Cowden (Cox sent off)

    Cowden 3 v 1 Annan

    Annan 1 v 0 Cowden

    Annan 3 v 2 Cowden

    Peterhead 1 v 0 Cowden

Stirling 2 v 1 Cowden (Deas sent off)

    Montrose 1 v 1 Cowden

Not quite Colin Hardie levels. How has he reffed so many matches with us and Annan? 😂

I got waitlisted and it genuinely ruined my weekend.

Was hoping to get tickets for my wifes christmas.  Waitlisted - didn't get an email until 4pm on Saturday.

Had a couple of friends who received a code and they couldn't get tickets either.  Ludicrous that people can buy for more than 1 night!

  4. Keeper signs on loan from St Johnstone.  Craig Hepburn.

Seems to have been on loan for Luncarty last season where he won their young player of the year award.

Great to hear that the SFA phoned the Club and asked if we wanted a first round bye. 👍

Think it was all part of the deal to say yes to the B teams.  Top work from the board.

  6. Seeing the title of this thread made me think the movie Titanic.

Not that one.  The animated sequel.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_the_Titanic

Featuring animals. It corrects a few wrongs about the Titanic voyage:

    • The Titanic sank because an octopus called Tentacles was tricked into an iceberg throwing contest by a group of sharks
    • A mouse managed to keep the telegraph wires active by attaching them to his moustache after the split
    • A guilt ridden Tentacles managed to hold the ship together and give people enough time to get onto lifeboats and help prevent anybody from dying.
    • Tentacles went down with the ship and is seen at the bottom of the ocean deceased.
    • Tentacles magically reappears at the end having survived

Well worth watching the Nostaglia Critics review of this. There's 2 other animated Titanic movies but this is my favourite. The entire film is also on Youtube if you have nothing better to do for 90 minutes.

  7. So am I right in thinking this is the current squad:

    GK
    Danny Farrell

    DF
    Jack Duncan (CB)
    Gregor Jordan (?)
    Jack Tait (LB)
    Scott Walker (RB)

    MF
    Lucas Berry
    Andy Black
    Zac Butterworth
    Ciaren Chalmers
    Jamie Docherty
    Aiden McLaughlin
    Robbie McNab
    Callum Murray

    FW
    Josh Jack
    Ewan Macpherson
    Scott Sinclair
    Kevin Smith

Might be missing some names but we look very light at the back.

Do you think you or University of Stirling would have got the League Cup invite if you'd voted against B-teams in the Lowland League?

God knows.  Up to the SPFL and nothing to do with Cowdenbeath.  I'm as surprised as anybody that we were invited but I do not believe for 1 second that our board would change their vote based on entry to the League Cup.  The club were as surprised as anybody when they got the phone call offering a place and have had to cancel friendlies for the matches.

Doesn't strike me as a club who were expecting to be in the draw.... OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST ALL PART OF THE COVER UP? 😮

The UoS vote was in the bag, getting Cowdenbeath to change their vote from No to Yes was much more valuable. I don't think there's anything tin foil hatty about suspecting that might have had something to do with the very odd League Cup decision.

It is complete horse shit.  Tin foil nonsense at its best.

why not just accept it for what it is. you've been handed a massive favour from the SFA and will be firmly in there pockets

and can you confirm what the point of that would be?  Cowdenbeath are now going to be getting late night phone calls with cryptic codes.

2 years in a row they invite runners up then all of a sudden they invite the bin juice do me a favour. would just be good to see someone on here put there hands up and say it how it is

    but done now

Our secret is out.  Cowdenbeath FC are the illuminati of Scottish football.

you've made over 30k in bending over for the SFA and shafting other clubs. 30k, that's a massive difference for bringing players in at this level. anyone who believes you were invited is a idiot your club is doing favours

    anyway your in now

Intrigued to know who people think should have got the remaining place if it wasn’t Cowden?

Probably one of the teams who finished above us.  Uni of Stirling mainly.
