I suppose it was only  a matter of time...

Malky Mackay started his playing career at the former amateur club and has previously had offers for a romantic return.

There appeared to be some social media traction for Lennon after he was spotted at Ochilview. However, he was there as a guest of the Jags where his son Lennon is on the books.

    Lennon Lennon?

Kiell is starting to grate on me a little. Frankie giving Ivo a little dressing down about going into the kitchen and someone winning 70k on a scratch card was hilarious as well.

Oh see I disagree entirely.  Kiell is fast becoming my favourite just down to his pure anger everytime something goes wrong.

Very harsh scoring in the final 2 tasks for Ivo and Frankie :D

It's a no from me. She's as irritating as I expected. A complete try hard that genuinely hasn't even made me so much as smile so far.

I'd love to meet the person who told her she was funny purely so I could kick them in the shins.

I listened to the Taskmaster Podcast episode with her and I found her half entertaining, half the crazy annoying lady who you would try and avoid at a quiz night at your local bowling club.

It's been a great series so far.  Really liking all the contestants efforts so far.  Kiell is phenomenal entertainment.  Constantly fuming at every points decision :D

  4. Would be happy with Elliot if he was appointed. Bound to have plenty contacts at this level. A tough job at a club with little cash and fans dreaming of a decent season for the first time in about a decade 😂

It's not the leagues, as far as I can see it's only Ian Maxwell.

Fair.  That's who people should be diverting their main anger towards.  The utter clown behind these proposals. It's an appalling position to put Lowland League clubs in.

Going by some posts on here and on Twitter though....

Cowdenbeath voted for it and have Donald Findlay as chairman so clearly must be loving the opportunity to play at Ibrox The Moreroom.com Stadium!! NO SURPRISE!

  6. God the amount of criticism Cowdenbeath are getting on here is mental.  10 teams voted it through. Can all the critics on here go and have a go at the other teams too? At least the club have had the courage to explain how we felt backed into a corner.  The other 9 clubs have stayed quiet.

I'm really not happy with the B teams being in the league structure however I am smart enough to understand that the directors had to do what they thought was best for the club.

The real story here is the leagues trying to force through the Conference League.  A completely shit idea if we're being honest.  Oh it's Rangers B v Buckie, Brora v Hearts B.  How utterly shit does that league sound? The powers at be simply can't upset the Old Firm. It's a disgusting idea and it's making my already reducing interest in Scottish football disappear.

  7. Went along as a neutral last night (with my PHD Ultra flag and dressed all in blue).  Dunfermline just had a bit more composure. Lost count of the number of times Peterhead just launched the ball into the box for Bene (loves a moan) to header away.  They could have played all night and not scored.

Wasn't overly impressed with Dunfermline.  Spoke with the club photographer at half time and he said that this is basically how they've been all season. Solid at the back and with just enough quality up top to take the win.  Exactly what happened 2nd half last night!  I imagine there will be a few new signings for life in the Championship.

2 penalty shouts in the first half.  Second one which was a handball looked like a pen but I was at the other end of the ground.

Can you let Matty Todd lift the trophy for you?  Ta.

We're still a bigger club than CSS...just. CSS players don't get a weekly wage so he'd have a bit of budget to play with at Cowden.

I assume Jardine wants to test himself at a higher level and I think CSS' ceiling is the Lowland League.

Ah wasn't aware they didn't get a weekly wage.

    BRING JOE HOME (with GJ)

This. Gary Jardine is the man we should go for and Big Joe as his assistant would be a bonus.

What are the chances he'd want to leave CSS?  We're hardly a big draw!

Yep, it had to be her. And I’ve just won £80.

Fuming at myself for not doing the same.  She was clearly going to win for weeks.

She'd have won anyway but Rochelle deciding to do the TV advert instead of the interactive thing was just stupid.  Literally standing with hairdryers while the 2 guys (still love Joe!) haven't a clue what they are doing.

Hi guys - if you didn't know I run the Maurice Miners podcast. It's been a very tough time for us since the relegation from the championship and there's been heehaw to cheer for and it's getting harder and harder to face the next game. So in an effort to try and rekindle a bit of interest and reminisce about happier days I am hoping to meet as many supporters as possible to give me a 10-15 minute interview on what the club means to them and add it to a series of episodes (however many 1 hourish episodes I can fill). Let's remember the times that made us cheer and wail , let's dream of helicopters or laugh about the good, bad or the ugly.

What was it about Cowdenbeath that drew you in? What kept you coming after all the hurt? Do you get teary remembering Toories goal to send us up? Did Mixu Paatelainen make all the hurt worth it? Do you get a sly smile when you remember Kane Hemmings opening the scoring in that storied day at East End Park?

What are your worst memories? Was 1992 a nightmare you couldn't wake up from? Did watching hearts stick ten past us send you loopy? Does Bonnyrigg stick in the throat like a dry piece of toast?

Is there any ludicrous memory or player that comes to mind? Did Armand One dancing to shouts of Pizza Hut give you a reason to grin? Does Jordan Garden trying to diving header a ball clear through another player still give you the chills? Did Bryan Gilfillan hopping on his one good leg to celebrate after surviving against Cove remind you that there are still heroes?

If you are interested please give me a message on here or get in touch through the twitter or Facebook pages. I'm happy to travel within reason or if you don't want to talk on air, write in your stories and I'll read them. I'm also sure I could do it through Skype/Zoom but I'd probably need to have a wee play about first. We all have something to say about Cowdenbeath Football Club and it deserves to be told.

Would be happy to be involved.  I'm away up by Peterhead nowadays so I'll easy write our a story or something for you to read out?  Not sure anybody wants to hear my voice :D

Surprised Sugar didn't come up with that one - would have made Karren Brady guffaw at least.

Usually by now you've got an idea of the potential winners but not a clue this time around. Megan and Simba have probably been okay so far? Marnie seems like the sort of candidate he'd have gotten rid of for being 'difficult to work with' before now. But the fact he hasn't means she's maybe got a half-decent business plan. For doing nothing other than point out the inadequacies of other candidates, has Victoria even been PM yet?

Avi deserved to go but I'd have enjoyed seeing him in the interviews. His business idea was AviTV which would only have gone down well.

Marnie has opened a boxing gym in London so I imagine she's wanting to start a chain. She'll win.

This has to be the worst group of candidates yet.  Nobody seems to have a clue really and in most other series Mark would have gone weeks ago.  Good riddance though as he was appalling :D

There must just be 1 candidate with an absolute dynamite business plan.  Sugar wants in so they need to make sure they win.    I'm not sure which of the candidates would have an interesting enough business plan based on their backgrounds below.

    Well 1 down :D

Utterly useless again last night.  It was just a shambles. I wish they'd have a season with actual competent people.

  14. Just finished watching the first 2 series.  Excellent TV.  Great characters and while it's not laugh out loud funny it does amuse me greatly.

    Roy Kent is just phenomenal.

I think berwick-the-unbeatable's point about most of us will look negatively upon Maurice's era once he is gone is correct. Let me make this absolutely clear, Maurice's contract should not be renewed at the end of the season. A few good results in the last two months does not excuse the disaster of the last 13 months of HIS management while we sit SIXTEETH in the FIFTH tier.

I have no respect for Maurice as he has shown no respect for us. So many instances.
    1) Going on a crappy Rangers podcast saying "he is operating at a lower level than his abilities" being at Cowdenbeath - well piss off and find a job higher up the pyramid, but the reality for him is there is no club at the level which would take.
    2) In the morning of an important game for us to climb the table, he is at Ibrox in his Cowdenbeath tracksuit and thinks it is appropriate to post this on twitter.
    3) At Bo'ness when we scored a brief equaliser, he shouted across at us "get it ****ing up you's", we said nothing to warrant this.
    4) I don't like the way he speaks to players and fans. From Drifter at Gretna to calling Alfie "a useless lanky ****" at Gretna to calling Carlos Lyon "you are nothing but a waste of ****ing space". Does this man ever learn from the mistakes of words in the past, such as at Nott's County? The evidence suggests not.
I could go on but we would be here all day.

We were relegated for a magnitude of reasons but I rank the causes in the following order:
    1) The scrapping of our reserve team and youth development side
I was looking at an old reserve programme from over a decade ago and we had such a good reserve team who all went to have great careers mostly. Let's be absolutely clear, the scrap of our youth development programme was a massive part in our recent downfall. Instead of relying on us to create cheap talent that filter into first team, we have relied on average talent deemed not good enough from other academies and paying over the odds for them.
    2) Poor managerial appointments and taking too long to sack them
Too many below-average appointments such as Fox, Nish and Locke that did not last long. Bollan did well in parts and had a good season in the season that was curtailed due to covid. The club took too long to sack him Bollan last season. I believe if he was sacked earlier we would have survived. Maurice should have been sacked in September/October. He has had two chances with two different squads and it is not worked.
    3) Stuck in old ways and fans feeling undervalued
The club have done so many things the way have done for years and become complacent. All my friends that used to come to the games 5/10 years ago stopped coming because they felt undervalued and that they were not getting value for money the further down pyramid we fell. Plus the additional costs of catering at Central which is much higher than anywhere else. What parent in Cowdenbeath can afford £4.50 for a hot dog for two kids. The club could have offered cheap days for entry but it is suggested every time but they say they will take it on board but nothing never happens. We have never done enough to encourage fans back.
    4) The way the club treats volunteers
The old boys at programme stall and around ground volunteer their time out of the goodness of their heart and get treated like rubbish. That is why the club cannot keep volunteers. I had a friend who worked in the media team a while back and he was not even get offered basic food and drink for their time. The most of the directors never spoke to them once in year and half he volunteered there. A basic thank you would have been nice for their time.

Anyway I got what I wanted to say off my chest.

You make some fair points.  I'm not a huge fan of Maurice myself from my personal encounters with him and I've not made a match this season so I'm not really able to pass comment.  However you are going way over the top on the board.

One of your comments is about offering cheap days for entry.  We've 100% done that in the past. Hell do we not offer a Kids go Free thing just now for Under 12s? It's £30 for a season ticket for Under 16s as well so the club have done plenty to encourage the next generation through the gates.  The only thing that will improve attendances is having a winning team.  I don't believe us changing manager will automatically mean we'll start winning every game.

Letting Maurice goes means a whole new coaching team comes in, who will no doubt want their own players in and we go through the same cycle again.  We're going to have a couple of seasons in the middle of the Lowland League because financially we can't afford to compete with other clubs at the top of the table.  It's as simple as that.

Finally was the youth team not stopped because the league changed?  I might be totally wrong but it's why the Fife Academy was made?

  16. This has to be the worst group of candidates yet.  Nobody seems to have a clue really and in most other series Mark would have gone weeks ago.  Good riddance though as he was appalling :D
