It was Jim Duffy (I think) on OTB at lunchtime that made a very valid point that the reason Brendan and the Board fell out the last time round was the lack of spends but equally, in the current market, very mediocre players are commanding transfer fees of many £millions. (“Couldn’t trap a bag of cement” being an easily imagined reality). Truth is, Celtic (and before you jump in, Rangers too) need to get much better at scouting.

Scottish chequebooks seem of little value these days.

You lot voting for Brexit hasn't helped the £ either.

I can't speak to Saints position but a possible difference with us is that we actually had the bulk of the starting XI that had hit form under Kettlewell contracted and still in the building - which meant we were looking at replacing 4 key players (Johnston, Furlong, Goss and Van Veen) and at least one of those we've been able to replace from our Academy (Lennon Miller (16) for Sean Goss).

Presumably that has allowed everyone in the various departments RG mentions above to be a lot more focussed on the job at hand rather than having to overhaul an entire team/squad - our summer has really been about trimming bodies and freeing up budget in order to to recruit a handful.

Yeah, this is the crux i think. We are at the start of a rebuild journey which realistically could take 2-3 years so we're already behind the curve entirely due to short sighted planning and ineffective wasteful recruitment. We didn't (don't?) have a long term platform behind the scenes.

    It definitely wasn't an accident.

He ran 80+ yards and kicked it as hard as he could into that crowd. It landed about 8 rows in front of me and I was probably 8-9 rows from the back of the stand.

He still didn't endanger anyone's life like the article seems to suggest. Although I think that's them quoting the court proceedings rather than the reports view.

His motive wasn't to hurt anyone either but he was a bit stupid. Ideally if they were going to do something in court it should have been done like 6+ months ago rather than it hanging on this long to fine him £400 🤦‍♂️

A full and frank admission by the Dees that they were all wrong at the time and a 3 month custodial sentence should see everyone happy.
