This watchalong thing they keep plugging sounds heinous. Although if Crofty isn't audible it might be tolerable.

Switched to it for 30s. They were chatting nonsense and hadn't realised the Ferrari's stayed out. Back to listening to main coms.

So by the time Alonso, Hamilton etc get past hulkenberg tomorrow Max will be 8-10 seconds clear up the road on another procession 😴

Well Hulk has been helpfully moved back. That said, even if Alonso gets past, Verstappen will likely get him on the straights. Without some changeable conditions it will be a stroll for him.

We need to bring in a player who can bag at least 15 a season.

Every team in the lower half of the league wants a player that can do that. They either fall outside our budget, or you come across a player who has a great season like Regan Charles Cook or Kevin Van Veen - and then they are usually offski the next year.

Miovski, Duk, Shankland and Van Veen are only players outside the Old Firm getting more than 15 goals this year in the league.

If Robinson can find a striker that is capable of a return of 10 or more league goals a season, that is pretty decent for where we are.

Any ideas what offers he has on the table? Would be an ideal signing for us if we came up.

I think he was keen on a return to Ireland.

I still think he has a fair bit to offer, and disappointed he hasn't stuck around. Gallacher and Taylor are decent enough options but we're going to have to recruit at the back.

And Munster shit face it again in a dreadful game.

Fair play to them, they know how to win, unlike the Scottish teams

Kinda come from nowhere too. Got turned over by Glasgow at Thormond Park, let Scarlets and Sharks run up 42 and 50 points then just seemed to change.

Any time I’ve spoken to him, he’s always a class act. I know Arabs fans maybe don’t care much at the moment, but he’s a thoroughly decent guy IMHO. I wished him all the best and that was it.

No doubt Jim is a decent bloke - saw that with the stuff he did community wise through lockdown.

I wasn't sure he was right fit for Aberdeen when they hired him - that said his signings were decent, he just couldn't make them play!

Always felt he was too stubborn at times (in his final season with us he kept playing 3 at the back which everyone could see wasn't working before finally changing it at the winter break which sent us on a run!) Dundee United giving Goodwin a Championship campaign is probably fair.

His signings and tactics were poor but to be fair to him he inherited the clusterfuck the club was following our relegation.

Shite as Rae was, much of a p***k as he was and as much as a disaster as his 2nd season was, there's no denying at all that he was a marked improvement on Ian Murray that season.

Murray got a raw deal with where the club was at that time, up for sale, relegated and wounded. It doesn't excuse how poor his signings were in the main or how rubbish the team was then. McMullan and Shankland probably the only 2 good ones. Howieson was a bit raw but seems to have carved out an OK career in New Zealand.

I don't think it's up for debate really that Rae did a better job than Murray. Murray looked lost and the job was too big for him. Rae came in and was was able to get control of the dressing room, made us much more solid and up for the battle. I'm not sure why the second season was such a disaster, but he did improve things when he took over.

I think the plights of 2 teams who qualified for Europe last season (Motherwell & Dundee Utd) should act as cautionary tales for us. It doesn't take much for everything to unravel.

For most teams that hover around top 6, the key issue is how you rebuild each season. You can't keep your players as the best move on and managers can do the same.

Robinson signed well last season to replace some big players going, and will have to do the same this season.

Fair play to Peyper, he knows drinking in Dublin is expensive, and is ensuring he'll never have to pay for one again

I genuinely think he sees things differently to other referees.

I was in a Octavia taxi in Lanzarote yesterday and It was a 2018 that had done 776k km.

The early 2000s Octavias were terrific. We had a diesel one and to be honest it was just an excellent car.

I was leaving Braehead and going onto the westbound m8 where there are average speed cameras up for a 40mph limit so the sliproad was pretty congested.

I'm amazed at the speed people drive through the 40mph zone. I assume they think it's like the 40 roadworks around Charing Cross and don't realise there are cameras?

I drove along on Saturday afternoon was sitting at 40 on the cruise control and was getting passed by people going 50-60mph comfortably.

To be fair, nobody could blame anyone in the St Mirren camp for being caught out by that. Under Neilson there was more chance of Harry McKirdy scoring a goal than a Hearts team changing tactics (at all, far less effectively) at half time.

Well probably but Atkinson coming on for Halliday was a good change. I'm not sure I understand what formation Hearts were playing- was Halliday left wing back as BBC are suggesting?

It was a total bodycheck on an opponent who was cruising past him. I thought it was a clear yellow - about the only call the ref got right all day.

Fair enough if that's the case. I just thought the yellow was harsh given what others got away with that day - Halliday in particular.

Only ourselves to blame - again. Robbo’ is great for us, but that second half was bollocks from him and the team.

I think Hearts changed things, rather than us really. When the full backs get pushed back, as they did 2nd half, the midfield gets overrun and the attack can't press their back line as hard.

What we probably need is a back up plan - I don't think we really have options to change formation, but I'd have liked us to go 4 in midfield to help the defence clear and push Hearts forwards back a bit.

I thought Taylor was superb on Saturday and honestly think we'd have had it sewn up if he'd stayed on as he had both Oda and Ginelly in his pocket - his forward passing, for a centre half, was also consistent and dangerous, a clear upgrade on Dunne's World Cup final big diagonals but I 100% understand why he was taken off. His one lapse led to a daft booking and we know he is prone to that.

Grieve was also causing a power of issues to the Hearts defence but took a sore one trying to get a shot away about 10 mins before half time - it was a fantastic last ditch block by the lad Sibbick but I dunno if Grieve kicked the turf or the top of Sibbick's foot but he clearly hurt himself and although we gave him every chance, his race was obviously run by that point, surprised it took as long as early in the 2nd half to take him off.

On the subject of Dunne - I like him and always have but since it became obvious he wasn't signing a new deal, he's mentally thrown in the towel. Saturday was dreadful from him.

Agree with the summary but I thought Taylor was unlucky with his booking to be honest- guy was running towards the touchline and he challenged him and got booked which seemed awful harsh compared to others who'd got away with worse.

It was probably the worst refereeing performance of the season. Embarrassing stuff with inconsistent calls and bookings and just seemed to annoy both sets of teams and fans all around. One of those games where it got away from the ref early on and he had no idea how to get control again.

Sam Johnson is the obvious shock on the list, however given we still have Jones, Tuipolotu and McDowall we are Scotland squad heavy so probably need to free up some space for youngsters / non SQ to take up hte slack during WC and 6N's. I would still have him at inside centre above anyone else we currently have, hopefully he is still in the NH and available for Scotland.

Forbes and Bergham are also both a loss as both are solid 1st team starting material. Bergham is still in and around hte Scotland set up so hopefully he gets a decent gig for next year.

Surprised a bit at Forbes. I agree Johnson has slipped down the list and perhaps SRU would want to see him play more - Edinburgh an option?
