  1. So the dermatologsit yesterday, another 2 types of creams added to her assortment. We've to monitor her skin and use the creams as we see fit. Peadiatrican today, another medicine for before her feeds. She's costing our surgery a fortune in pescription! She's sitting up on her own now for around half an hour at a time if not more and the two of them are really starting to play together! Niamh hero worships Ruairidh!
  2. I was in labour with my first by that stage! Just two trips to the hospital this coming week!
  3. My clothes all packed in the car ready for journey south and I end up with 3oz of baby sick on me. Bloody reflux! Hardly a bit of ezcema left on Niamh, I've been able to cut her down to the milder steroid cream and the parafin. Can't believe the difference.
  4. I am, she's gone from being so red raw that she was bleeding to normal skin colour since her appointment on Tuesday afternoon
  5. Before and 2 days after first dermatology appointment!
  6. i read that book a few years back and thought it was fabulous. I've just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl who Played with Fire. Waiting on my father in law reading the final one but I might steal my dad's copy next week. Really enjoyed them, not a genre I would normally read.
  7. So I have come home from hospital appointment today with a mummy baby! Head to toe in bandges. She's on stronger creams, eumovate on face and betovate for her body and liquid parafin all over and then body bangages all over. She has sever excema and it looks like our pet dogs days with us are numbered.
  8. Missed this yesterday, I asked about Carobel and my HV laughed at me, cheeky cow, and said they don't prescribe it any more which is bull shite.
  9. Boys are slow speakers so I wouldn't worry about it. Try nit to compare your child to others as they are all different.
  10. Get your wife to put a drop of breastmilk up her nostrils. Wee bit of snuffle baby on a hankie and tied to the cot. Into the bathroom with the shower on full heat to steam it out. You can get nasal aspirators from Boots.
  11. Don't know where my 'laprophamine ' went to in last post. I def typed it in! If I hear the phrase 'but shes gaining weight' or 'aw look at her smiling away there can't be much wrong with her' one more time I may punch someone (you're warned Debs lol!) Last week her neck was weeping on a couple of occasions it was so red and sore. One of the cream, double base, the first time we used it she went bright red and she started screaming. We had to get her straight in the shower which go the cream off her but made her redder! I'd been using cotton wool and water on her aat bum changed thinking it would be better for her sensitive skin not realising that that was what was making her bottom red. I've switched to wipes now. I'm back to work in 3 weeks but thankfully the nursery are fabulous and I've already had a long chat with them about it all and I have no worries that they will be totally supportive. Thankfully none of it is serious illnesses in any way. But the constant backing and foring to GP trying to get them to take me seriously is wearing.
  12. We are on gaviscon and on a(not spelt right!) too neither helping much. They said by 6 months it should start improving....it's getting worse! We've just started solids....she's bringing them up too!
  13. Well add, aquagenic urticaria to the list, she's reacting to water. Goes bright red. Chico, we're using nturamigen as they think she may have a lactose intolerance. My GP managed to get a dermatology appointment for Tuesday this week. Looking forward to seeing Debbie this week! Well done Gman.
  14. Well done! After 5 weeks of not getting time to complete the registration forms for my OU module I've decided now maybe isn't the best time to start!
  15. It's nothing serious, reflux and excema and she smiles away anytime they see her and is gaining weight. They don't see her screaming in pain and scratching as she's itchy alot of the time.
  16. So having been to the surgery and opened the consultation with "I feel that the practice has let Niamh down and why do you only do something for her when the Health Visitor intervenes" my GP has managed to get her a dermatology appointment for next Tuesday and is awaiting a call back from her consultant paediatrician.
  17. Having now had 3 positive urnine sample for infection Ruairidh needs to go to Peadiatrician to get checked for reflux between kidney and bladder. So one potty training toddler with possible reflux issues. One sicky baby with different reflux issues and no washing machine until 10th October.
  18. If your wife is a student her college or uni should help out with some of the childcare fees I would have thought?
  19. Jesus that is expensive. They are certainly cashing in on being the only nursery. The nursery we use would be £560 a month if we put the baby in full time. Although our nursery is a little cheaper than others as it is a not for profit organisation rather than a persons business but even then £1100 is robbery. When I go back to work Niamh is going in 3 days and Ruairidh 4 days and I'll be £600 a month but tax credits will help us. If it wasn't such an excellent nursery, in fact one of the best in the country, I wouldn't bother going back to work. It's the only one I would use in the area. Also a good friend is the depute. Once the baby is here and if your wife goes to any mums and tots groups she'll probably be able to get a childminder reccomended to her by other parents.
