Unless there's some serious business in the next couple of days then the pool of players we'll be going into Saturdays game with is nothing short of embarrassing. I know it's an early start but it's been that way for a few years now since the League Cup groups came in so I don't really buy the excuse that clubs can't build a squad on time any more.

A photo of the players involved in today’s game with obviously a few more well-known faces missing. Carlos Lyon is in there on the kitman’s right and that’s another trialist on his left. A part of me feels I recognise the guy next to Barry Cuddihy but no name is jumping out. I believe the guy in between Cameron and Peter Grant is Conor McLaughlin and I don’t recognise the guy beside Sula either.
Let the speculation commence!
I also recognise the guy between Cuddihy and Sula but just can't put a name to him.

Peterhead away just before christmas. NAP.

Leighfield
Lyon - Sula - Grant - Craig
Carswell - Cuddihy
Scullion - Forbes - Cameron
RennieParry, R Grant, Hynes, Dunachie
Looking at something along they lines at present (presuming R Grant is still out for a while). Desperately need more and not squad fillers either, players that'll go into the starting 11.

I can't believe we're going into this season with the same full backs as last year.
Actually, I can

My account had logged out the other day but I got back in first attempt without a problem

I was in the South Stand an it was fine for maybe about half of the time we were in the ground. It got steadily worse as time went on.
That's similar to me. Was in South Upper. Actually had a better signal in the stadium than the pub!

Left about 70 mins in to catch my last bus home from Glasgow at midnight. Hate leaving games early but the win already being secure softened the blow. I only stay about 17 miles from Hampden so can't imagine the distruption caused to folk travelling from up/down/across the country.
Slightly strange atmosphere when the game eventually restarted. Think everyone had the energy sapped out them by that point although it did improve again after McTominays goal.
I know he gave away the penalty in Norway but I've really enjoyed Ryan Porteous in a Scotland shirt, thought he was brilliant again. I do wonder when we'll find out how good Angus Gunn actually is though

Just seen the club have announced season pass prices for next season. But I have a question, with the season pass it says "gives you reduced entry to all 18 league two home games". What is the reduced fee? Just trying to see if I should buy a season pass or just pay as I go per game.
PAYG was £17 last season I think so if it stays that then you're saving just under 4 quid a game

Unsure if it’s been discussed in here but we’re playing on the 3rd July “at home” in a closed door friendly. I’m assuming “home” in this case is Ochilview.
Aye will be Ochilview I'd imagine. Accies have a home friendly the same night

Surprised how many ex-Sons players are making these lists. We had Cusack and Craig McLeish and I don't remember either being offensively bad, Cusack in particular had something about him. Gregg Wylde and Owen Ronald are two names who would deserve it though. Ronald was honestly baffling. We signed him in the Championship and apparently Jack Ross thought he was going to be a star. He was a complete shitebag and offered nothing. Wylde is much the same and I can't believe we offered him a new deal this year.
Wylde was poor for us and even after including him in my team I thought afterwards it was maybe slightly harsh as master tactician Danny Lennon seemed to want to play him everywhere except his natural position. I can mind an Open Goal episode when he played with us though where he said along the lines of "I don't mind it in the lower leagues cause it's more of a laugh wae yer mates" which didn't really sit well as it was basically admitting he wasn't arsed.

Aw yes its time for some abject misery! Let's go 4-3-3!
JC Hutchinson
John Kane, Craig Tully, Ross Fisher, Joe Gorman
Paul Slane, Craig McLeish, Barry Ferguson (honourable mention because he DID play 45 mins)
Steve Kipre, Liam Cusack, Bradley Coyne

Scott Findlay
John Kane, Craig Tully, Mark Casey, Andrew Traub
Paul Slane, Nicki Paterson, Kevin Finlayson, Conn Boyle
Adam Coakley, Mark Archdeacon, Rob Jones (maybe not fair in this company but genuinely couldn’t stand him).
There are likely worse players but these stand out in my head.
Just to highlight how many woeful players we've had, I thought I'd do one where I'm not allowed to include any players from either of these 2 sides.
Nik Rajovic
Billy Mortimer - Scott Gair - Steven Thicot - Robert Halliday
Paul Stewart - Jay Lang - Christian Smith - Gregg Wylde
Paul McLeod - Adam CoakleyThat first half of 2009/10 squad is up there with the most painful ever Clyde teams. Relegation was staring us in the face even more than the season just passed.

Not meaning to jump on you specifically @Bullyweeno1 but I see the “worst in 40 years” comment mentioned a lot in relation to Cameron.
Whilst I agree, he’s not brilliant, I honestly cannot overstate how much guys like John Kane, Bryan Dingwall, JC Hutchison, Zac Butterworth, Stuart Mills, Craig Tully, Mark Archdeacon, Conn Boyle, Mark Casey etc are engrained into my mind. It’s maybe just to do with my age as I was fairly young watching a lot of those guys play but they all stick out as being absolutely hopeless or beyond anonymous.
So far Cameron has been bad, but he’s not at that level for me.
Absolute shudder reading some of they names. Dingwall should've been a good signing but never happened for whatever reason. Perhaps the gap in quality between L2 and Pollok was bigger back then.
John Kane was an utter imposter. Can just about accept shite players but players that don't even try are infuriating. Had the audacity to point and shout at other players too as if he was a world beater.

What Doherty needs is a playmaker beside him. I can heartily recommend his partner, Martin Rennie.
I'm sure our board would be open to offers.
I have heard Rennie could be away aswell but in all honesty, as limited as he is, I'd rather hold on to him or we're looking at having to bring in at least 3 new strikers. He at least gets into poachers positions to finish as we've seen with his goals for us. Feel he would be useful to an extent in L2, wouldn't be starting him every week though.

I think Paton would have struggled to bag many goals in that Clyde side last season tbh so I'll give him time before I dismiss him.
I'm not sure he would've. Jordan Allan managed to hit double figures before leaving in January. A problem with Doherty, as Jaggy Snake mentioned above, is he just barely gets into scoring positions. Has a lot of speculative efforts from distance. If Bartley is intending on using him as a link player then he's probably better suited to that but I still feel it's a strange signing. Good luck to him though, didn't rate him but worked hard for the team and poor players are more tolerable than ones who can't be bothered.

Our board come in for some deserved criticism but managing to get a fee for Kyle Doherty is a masterstroke.
Would maybe benefit playing FT football but if I was a Queens fan and we're trying to get out L1 then this isn't a signing that would get me excited whatsoever.

The Spaghetti Bowl, Broadwood, New Douglas Park and the Balmoral.
I predict a highest Group C attendance of 876.
New Douglas Park for us now too. Moved out Broadwood last year. I think the way the fixtures work though, you'll avoid 2 away trips to the same venue.
Our group really is a dull one.

Kyle MacDonald would be a good signing. Surprised he's even on there as thought he'd have no problem getting offers. Same with Jon Robertson and Nikolay Todorov.

But isn't it 5 different pots now? That's what last seasons draw was based on and it was the first non regional groups stage draw.
The only difference I believe it would make is for the "Unseeded" to be split into 3 seperate pots but who knows.
Confirmed as 5 different pots. I never actually realised that was the case last year.

Cameron Salkeld signed for Darlington

Carswell or McKee then presumably. Would be content enough with either.
18 minutes ago, Brian Carrigan said:Just for a bit of debate, here are 10 players (taken from Narey's Toepoker) who are currently out of contract that I would take at Clyde:
Scott Gallacher, Wullie Muir, Jon Robertson, Robbie Leitch, Ross Philp, Stuart Carswell, Russell MacLean, Joe McKee, Nathan Flanagan, Sean Crighton.
I imagine we'll sign 0/10.
I done something similar a few days back, had a couple of they names plus a few others who have already signed for clubs I'd expect us to be able to compete with.

I haven't seen anyone post the seeding/groupings and I know it's in the new format started last year. Hopefully they will post them soon.
1st seeds - St Mirren, Motherwell, Livingston, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Ross County,
Dundee Utd, Dundee.
2nd seeds - Ayr, Queens Park, Partick Thistle, Morton, Inverness CT, Raith Rovers, Arbroath, Hamilton.
Unseeded - Cove Rangers, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Airdrieonians, Alloa, QOS, Edinburgh, Montrose, Kelty Hearts, Clyde, Peterhead, Stirling, Dumbarton, Annan, East Fife, Forfar, Stenhousemuir, Stranraer, Bonnyrigg Rose, Elgin, Albion Rovers, Brechin, Spartans, Buckie Thistle/Stirling Uni.I'd imagine it would be that based on last seasons standings.

Petershill 4-1 St Rochs
Comfortable win for Peasy against a garbage Candy side. First and last goals the pick of the bunch with Darren Miller scoring a peach of a free kick early on to give Peasy the perfect start then Galassos late consolation for Candy being an effort from miles out that sailed over the Peasy goalies head and in.
