  1. It was really nice having Open All Mics be actually listenable after all of last season.
  2. Really hope when James Brown scored they played I Feel Good on the stadium PA
  3. Michael Stewart phoning in from Dingwall today via an old tin-can on a string by the sounds of things. That said, Al Lamont is a much less annoying host than Kenny McIntyre
  4. Teams for today's game. Good to see Dhanda starting. Didn't realise Tidser was Kelty's manager.
  5. Seeing as he's currently playing in the 6th tier of Dutch football, I can't see it.
  6. Can confirm. Hermit inside the gatefold is a pretty nice drawing
  7. My first games were watching the village team, Ardersier, in the Inverness & District Welfare League. Because it was a short walk from the house and obviously it was free and at that age I'd have probably watched any football I could get my eyes on. First paid game was...it was either a Caley vs County game at Telford Street Park that I'm pretty sure was 0-0 but was definitely a draw, or it was the Scottish Cup 1st Round game against St Cuthbert Wanderers that County won 11-0. Pretty sure they were the only County games I saw the 93/94 season, County's last in the Highland League, but I also got taken to East End Park when twice when visiting my grandad who lived in Fife. First was against Morton (still have the program somewhere) second was against Brechin, and I remember a fan next to us in the main stand was very bored and started counting the away fans: there were 52. Became a regular at Victoria Park the next year.
  8. Aye, it's always a weird time with competitive games that are sort of in a no man's land place between friendlies and competitive games. Players may not all be at full match fitness yet, new players clearly haven't gotten embedded in yet, all that. So ultimately results and just getting through to the knock out rounds is more important than the performances. Win is a win. And honestly, if this was last season and we went a goal behind I'm not sure I'd have expected us to come back and win, even against a Championship team, so that's something.
  9. I voted Malky because god do I want him gone, but it won't be Malky because the chairman loves him for inscrutable reasons. He should've been punted at the end of the season but wasn't, so I can't see more dire results being enough for him to go this year.
  10. Or St Johnstone fans aren't quite as obsessed with you as you seem to be with them? Just a guess mind. Anyway, nice win today,
  11. Another lad out on loan now, Ryan MacLeman, spent last year at Forres and will spend this season further to the east in Elgin.
  12. Far as I can see it's £14 for adults, £10 for teenagers & pensioners, free for under 12s. Which is the same as every group game, home or away. https://www.rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk/news-items/ticketing-information-viaplay-cup
  13. I see on Facebook that Andrew Macleod and George Robesten have been sent on loan to Nairn County until January. Hope they don't learn anything from Ross Tokely while there.
  14. Pleasantly surprised that Dhanda is still here. Obviously still plenty of time left in the transfer window but I really did assume he would be off by now.
  15. Are there any more friendlies before the Stranraer game?
  16. How much do you think the BBC would have to pay to change the rights, an extra £50 a year? It's not like I can imagine there's a huge demand for on demand football match radio commentary.
  17. Look on the bright side. Thread has probably not been busier since May 26th 2021!
  18. Fair enough if you find it boring & tiresome but trying to imply I'm an Old Firm fan is just too far. What's funny is that I don't actually think I'm particularly negative about County, except when there's things to be negative about. And even ignoring the stuff about Malky's past, we're coming off a season where we finished 11th & scraped through the playoffs on penalties, while playing quite brutal & often futile hoofball so aye, there's been stuff to be negative about, & seeing as, despite the signings, most of the squad from last season are still here aside from the loanees, Iacovitti, Watson & Cancola, I'm not getting carried away yet, positively or negatively, about next season. I certainly hope bringing back Josh Reid works out, when he left he showed good promise. But there's no point pretending there's not question marks over him because he has barely played first team football since January 2021. I'm happy they brought in Brophy based on what we got to see of him, if he'd not been unlucky with injury we'd probably not have finished 11th, but I also think a 6 figure fee is a lot of money for Ross County to spend. And yes, it's MacGregor's money, that's fine. But if he got struck by lightning tomorrow then the club isn't necessarily in a great place. And I care about that because regardless of what you think I do actually care quite passionately about Ross County. Club is bigger than the manager or the owner or even a particularly sad & forever bitter fan for that matter. Ironically none of this is new stuff I'm saying but because you decided to go for a weirdly disproportionate & personal attack I felt compelled to repeat it all, which doesn't really seem like what you were trying to achieve. Something to consider for next time you get this angry? (And yes, the name is taken from the Lard song. Even the bitter can like good tunes!)
  19. Blindly supporting your club regardless of what they do doesn't strike me as particular grown up, but hey, that's the joy of the human experience, we've all got our own perspective on things.
  20. Wasn't me who hired the racist homophobic bigot & made it incredibly easy to be negative about the club m8. I tend not to get carried away about signings anymore, I've seen so many players come & go over the past 30 years that I at least try to hold my excitement until they actually play. Especially as I saw next to f**k all Championship or Southern Premier League so can't really comment on Allardice, Henderson or Sheaf (though I'm not exactly overflowing with optimism about bringing in someone from the English 7th tier I'll be happy to be wrong). And I certainly don't think splashing cash is automatically something to celebrate, we paid money for Luckassen & got Liam Boyce for free after all, & I know which of those I'd rather have at the club. Life's too short to kid on that everything is rosey at the club. Hooray, we stayed up, the manager who got us into the playoffs is still in charge & still making signings. Kind of hard to be enthusiastic about that once the general euphoria of the penalty shootout win wore off. The fundamental problems from last season are still there, & so are other problems around long-term sustainability. You must have a much sharper bread knife than me, it struggles with a good sourdough loaf, can't imagine it'd be much cop at human flesh. Not sure having a gurn about a football club is a massive warning sign of mental unrest tbh.
  21. No point in just being a happy clapper, if you think something is bad or a waste of money there's no harm in saying so. Roy MacGregor is 70, he could die tomorrow & what happens to all these wages we're suddenly lumbered with? His kids don't have any obligation to keep pumping money into the bottomless pit to keep things on an even keel, & Ross County FC was here before Roy MacGregor & I'd like to hope it'll continue a long time after Roy & indeed I am dead.
