  1. Being able to ping long balls with pin point accuracy has nothing to do with the standard of opposition. McGlynn has decided that he's unfazed by his 7th tier Spanish history, and he played for Barnet who were until fairly recently were a league club.
  2. "Highlights" of Blaise Riley-Snow from a couple of years ago - some terrific distribution and a bit of skill on the ball: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12226391/Blaise-RileySnow
  3. I liked Rio Ferdinand's quip about Chiellini - "he has the dark side down to a tee, a fantastic defender"
  4. I think it was the cost of the loans. McGlynn said that in a prevous interview that some loans certainly weren't cheap.
  5. Have to agree, tho Shielfield matches it. It wasn't so too bad until they stopped us getting to the terracing opposite the stands.
  6. It's early days, and we never play great at Central Park.
  7. Tho I must say I was glad when Rangers' kids beat Sollihull Moor and Wrexham last year. On the other hand colt teams playing foreigners away deprive other teams of a great away day.
  8. I really like the Challenge Cup with the "foreign teams in it, but this season's whithout them it's a non event. I resent the colt and "B" teams too, which IMO severely devalue it.
  9. Football at our level is never a value for money proposition. Possibly not at any level. Going to the Kino vs going to the Odeon for entertainment is about value for money. Watching your football team isn't. It's about things like local pride, tribalism, heritage, belonging etc. It's not sausages you're buying. Agreed, I'm not arguing one way or another. Whereas some folk will back the club whatever the ST prices (acting charitably towards the clubyou might say) others find them challenging their finances too much and decide their money has higher priorities.
  10. Some are pointing out that the club is not a charity and has to charge what it needs to be competitive. Fair enough. Others are saying fans should be prepared to splash out more to help the club. It can't be both; if the club isn't a charity fans shouldn't be expected to be donating "charitably", and it becomes all about value for money.
  11. So he's going to be on the physio table all season then?
  12. Yep. Simon Murray didn't play either, he'll terrorise 1st Division defences.
  13. As McGlynn said at the time we treated it as a friendly whereas Falkirk went al out to make a statement.
  14. Not to forget they were without some of their big names.
  15. Only friendlies of course but there are some interesting results from yesterday - our league rivals not exactly looking formidable: Hibs 4 -1 Dunfermline Accies 0 - 5 Dundee Larne 2 - 2 Killie QOS 2 -1 Stranraer Partick 2 - 1 East Kilbride
  16. You're right, but they changed things around in the second half and were much better. Longridge did well, but they had others too.
  17. Queen's Park look a team. I'm expecting another Glasgow thorn in the Bairns' arse this season to keep you at the seaside for yet another year.
  18. Yes, that was an odd statement. I'm hoping it just means he knows he's a good player but knows nothing of his background.
  19. Clyde looked not too bad on Tuesday but QP were a notch or two above them. First Division looks like a highly competitive league this year, With Cove Airdrie Montrose Falkirk Alloa and yourselves, and no whipping boys either. I'll not be surprised at all if you make the playoffs - best of luck.
  20. Good game today. QP were well worth the draw, lots of good play.
