  1. Blair Alston is a completely baffling signing for you boys. He was one of the poorer players in the worst Falkirk team in living memory. He is totally done.
  2. Too right. I'm close to people who were involved in the old school, original Back The Bairns. The ones who actually saved the club back in the late 1990s. And trust me, they're appalled with what has happened to the club and the behaviour of the directors.
  3. I know some of the folks involved with the CI and the fans consortium looking to invest in the club. Through my job, I get to meet quite a few business leaders in a wide range of industries. Very rarely, if ever, have I ever seen anyone communicate with their customers/fanbase in as rude and dismissive as the Rawlins and certain members of our BoD. It's tinpot stuff. I think we need to remember how important FFC are in the grand scheme of things. A decent sized Wetherspoons in a major city will generate more revenue and profit than the club will in a year. We're never going to attract the creme de la crème of the investment or management world. The best we can realistically hope for is honest folk with a modicum of business acumen and fundamental decency. I'm sceptical that the current board stack up on any of those criteria. But, none of that really matters. FFC is the Rawlins' plaything now so we'll just have to hope they don't break it.
  4. On more than one occasion over the past few years the board have stymied attempts by fans to invest sizable amounts into the club. The club is now all-in on the Rawlins. If they turn out to be chancers or merely just get bored and neglectful, then the club is even more screwed than it currently seems to be. If anyone believes that Deans or any of the non-execs have any meaningful influence or the ability to act as providers of checks and balances (even if they wanted to) then they are utterly deluded.
  5. Spot on. We are viewed as a paragon of boardroom integrity, footballing excellence and all-round elite sporting/business acumen.
  6. Clearly the size of a clubs fanbase matters, and is one clear advantage that Falkirk have over many teams currently in the SPL or Championship. All else being equal, and assuming a £15 ticket price, if you're pulling in between 1-2k extra fans 18 times a season that's an extra £270k-£540k revenue you're generating a season. Across a first-team squad of 25, that's between £10,800 and £21,600 extra you can pay for each player. Obviously, that's a crude simplification but i don't think should be disregarded. Obviously, while Falkirk might have that advantage, they've managed to render it pretty useless in many other ways. Firstly, the size of the home fanbase is largely pointless as long as we're in Division 1. The likes of Hamilton may have a paltry home support - but getting 3 visits a season from the Old Firm alongside Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen fans will swell the total season attendance figures by enough to more than mitigate that. Also, other teams like St Mirren and St Johnstone are just so much better managed than we have been and have managed to use their stadiums to generate revenues in a way that we aren't capable of. The whole sorry/hilarious (delete depending on your perspective) has been one of appalling chronic mismanagement coupled with a tiny bit of bad luck (those few years where Hearts/Hibs/Rangers were in the Championship). We are where we deserve to be, there's no doubt about that. I don't think it's unreasonable for Falkirk fans to look at the likes of a Motherwell/Kilmarnock/St Johnstone and ask the questions about why Falkirk shouldn't be able to emulate what they've achieved over the past 20 years. They're all clubs with similar-ish building blocks to Falkirk. We've just had a string of Chairmen/board members/management teams who seem to prefer shoving those blocks up their nose.
  7. Just add him to the ignored users list like everyone sensible has done. And also stop quoting him so he doesn't pop up on my screen, cheers.
  8. While I have no strong view on the Partick side one way or another, it is very possible that you are still utterly rotten. This Falkirk side is without a shadow of a doubt the worst that any of us have ever seen. Somehow they're still only 4 points behind your mob. That is baffling to most of us. So, yes. You can be that bad. We're just plumbing spectacular new depths of shite.
  9. Was on the same page as you there Ranaldo
  10. Channelling the spirit of John Lambie via a pre-match seance would be a better choice...
  11. Agreed. As i said a few weeks back, we need to rip it all up and start again. A complete purge of the board and management team. Get the yes men and self-promoters punted pronto. Radical action is needed. Starve the club of cash. Encourage others not to buy season tickets, sponsorship packages etc. Giving money to those charlatans that have mismanaged the club for years, shafted volunteers and supporter initiatives on multiple occasions, and driven the club to its lowest ebb will only help them hang on for longer.
  12. I'm firmly in that camp too. There's not a single member of that board I would trust as far as I could throw them. The history of Falkirk FC is one where the people that do their best to support the club get continually shafted. It seems like this is no different. It's a real dilemma because while wanting the best for the club.... There has to come a point where a stand is taken. Whether that means looking at withholding some level of support, who knows. Rip it up and start again.
  13. Donate? If I were Clyde I'd be pushing for all 3 points.
  14. I get why it won't ever happen, but the inability of FFC's commentary team just to call out the utter dross being served up irritates me. During the Dumbarton game last week, they kept saying in the first half things like "oh, Dumbarton are pressing hard and making it difficult for the Bairns but you have to question how long they can keep up such an effort"..... As we passed the ball from left to right and back again without putting them under any pressure whatsoever.
  15. They show us getting an average of 1.38 points per game over the last 8 games versus an average of 1.33ppg over the last 6. So a slight deterioration actually.
  16. You're a clown. Of course we should be steam-rollering the majority of the teams in this league. No matter what your partner might tell you to make you feel better about yourself, size matters. We are a full-time club with a larger budget than almost everyone in the league (not sure about Partick tbf) and are playing against an assorted bunch of part-timers most weeks. It's just the way it is, to Old Firm fans we're a diddy team that should cause no concern..... For us the likes of Dumbarton, Clyde, Peterhead, East Fife, Montrose and Forfar should be considered a locked-in 3 points pretty much every game. The only reason they're not is because of the mismanagement from board level all the way down. I hate all this crap about 'well we are where we are and there's no easy games'. If there was a scintilla of competence within that club we wouldn't be in the third tier in the first place and we certainly wouldn't be a few bad results away from mid table mediocrity after 15 games.
  17. Let's not best about the bush, it's collosally embarrassing to be a Falkirk fan right now and it has been for years. It's terrible performance after terrible performance. Terrible players replacing terrible players. Terrible management teams replacing terrible management teams. Its about a club that hauls in a top division level fan base and consistently serves them up a team that's barely worthy of the third tier. It's about a club that consistently shafts it's closest fans. Older school posters on here will know how long I've been around and how much I've supported the club historically. But I've watched how people in positions of power have shafted people I care about for years from the days of Back The Bairns through to the current Crunchie Initiative. Toxic. Toxic. Toxic. We'd be better off ripping the whole fucking thing up and starting again. Right now it's just a massive pile of shit run by absolute wankers. f**k you FFC.
  18. About 20 years ago I lived in a flat next door to Stuart. His girlfriend was absolutely stunning. If she's still in the frame I can't blame the Forfar board for keeping him in the job on the off chance that she might occasionally pop in.
  19. Perhaps aim that link at those who argued that a condition for supporting Falkirk was your political allegiance
  20. Would you prefer Labour voters, who voted for a party led by anti-Semites or SNP voters that support a party whose entire raison d'etre would lead to massive economic pain for the entire country? Alternatively, to the partisan take above..... you could take the view that most voters whether they are Lib Dem, Tory, SNP, or Labour are fundamentally decent people who want the best for both themselves and the country at large. And whilst we might disagree with the decisions they've made for many reasons, recognise that most have made those choices with good intentions. And vilifying 20/30/40% of your fellow citizens is pointless, narrow-minded and ultimately counter productive to whatever goals you might have. Of course I appreciate the above will be beyond you, because you appear to be quite thick.
  21. Oh do f**k off you tedious wankers. A decent proportion of Falkirk fans will have voted Tory in the last election and it doesn't make them any less of Falkirk fans than you dickheads.
  22. You call that ambivalence?. I didn't realise there was a game until I just read this thread, but am now going to bash my head off a brick wall until i'm unconscious and forget that we ever played the match. That's how little i care.
