  1. First goal scorer, for anyone wondering, I wouldn't recommend the Sutherland brothers for this atm.
  2. Aye, and they also have Taylor and Jake Sutherland as our 3rd and 4th most likely players to be FGS.
  3. Could be anyone that. The other trialist does look like Isaac Fltecher.
  4. We're also hoping to sign a defender before the window shuts.
  5. From a look at Southport FC forum he seemed popular and well liked. Looking forward to seing what he can do!
  6. I'm not sure if it still is the case, but I asked the question yeaaars back about renting out the stadium for challenge Cup finals and the board at the time didn't see it as being that great financially, I'm not sure if that's dictated by the size of the crowd, or whether they were looking at it with regards to more pitch maintenance? Was there anything from your board about how much you got for it last season? Edit - I'd expect it to be at Livingston tbh, they've had previous finals there, plastic pitch, location wise there's probably not a great deal in it for Falkirk? Wee bit more travel from Raith and the police won't be having palpations.
  7. Ach it's different for everyone I suppose, I'm looking forward to a trip away with my mates. Reckon the atmosphere in the fan zone will be delightful.
  8. Not tempted to go over just for the atmosphere in general?
  9. Surprised at Broadfoot turning it around, he looked utterly done in the two meetings so far.
  10. Aye, I'm quite excited for Johnson tbf. I've already forgotten this season, all steam ahead for next year.
  11. I'd be game for it if it meant another bunch of raging away fans tbh.
  12. That, and the rumour that we're also on course for another loss this year. Maybe the board just haven't turned on the TV and watched a programme called "The News".
  13. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC011580 "Next accounts made up to 31 May 2023 due by 29 February 2024" Our final game of the season was the 6th of May.
  14. It's a figure that's been kicking around for a while as a rumour, and it was asked of Cook at the last supporters meeting and he neither confirmed or denied the figure. McCarthur used to do an end of season roundup where he would detail our finances and say how we were likely to do for the season so the board will absolutely be aware how last season looked, and will be very aware with how this season is looking, and again it seems not great.
  15. Cool, so if we post the near seven figure loss rumoured will it be down to the 80,000 in prize money, or is that purely inflation which the big transfer fee, sponsorship deals and extra 20,000 people through the gate haven't touched the sides with?
  16. It's the scale of the reported losses that concerns me. Our squad last year was light, and tight as f**k, it's light, and tight again this year. Im fully aware of L1 prize money, I'm also aware of the Championship prize money, to simply put it down to that though is daft. If it was as simple as that we should be able to draw a line between them both and say "Oh, we've lost 239,200 (That's the difference between 1st in league one, and 4th in the Championship)". However if we were to be that simplistic we'd be ignoring that our attendances actually went up last season, we'd be ignoring the EEP sponsorship deal, we'd be ignoring the sell on fee from Nisbet. Should these not have went some way to bridging that gap? As well as that we've prattled on about our aim this being year to avoid relegation, the difference between 8th in the Championship and 1st in league one is only 89,700. Do you reckon that'll be our loss this year?
  17. He's likely just made a mess of his statemenf tbh. https://dafc.co.uk/board-of-directors/ To say we don't have Dunfermline fans involved, and just have German investors is wild. On that last sentence, whenever you bring up that there evidently has been allot of investment into Raith you inevitably get the proceeding part about the increase in attendances etc. Now I don't want this to get into a crowd w**k, but you're still averaging 1,700 ish less than ourselves, with smaller hospitality on top of that. When we had average crowds of sub 4 thousand it was massive struggle. And while you did lose out on a couple of players, you also seem to have managed to sign a good few players that would've been getting chased by the rest of the Championship. I don't think there was any doubt about how Kelty rose through the ranks, and I'd imagine if you had asked any Raith fan last season why and how they reckoned Kelty had went from where they were, to the 3rd tier of Scottish football they wouldn't have pointed to the increased crowds and hospitality that Kelty have had. All credit to Raith fans for coming out in larger numbers, but the main difference in finance compared to last season isn't the increased shirt sales, it's that rather theres a few more cash moneys in the boardroom. Fwiw I'm not sure I even agree with your last part about both clubs doing nothing untoward, we're going to announce a pretty big loss from last season, and we're rumoured to be on course for a loss this season. I'm hoping the accounts will make it clearer but that does worry me tbh.
  18. There's nonsense throughout that post. However topping it off by saying that Andy Barrowman, John Potter and Dean McKenzie are Rovers supporters is some laugh.
  19. I'm very much going off the Fife free press here, but were you not already posting a loss under Sim? With the the works being done around Starks Park it's hard to see how it's not been achieved with external, owner funding. There's absolutely a bit of jealousy from me, if the club is losing money I'd much rather at least be enjoying the product on the pitch a bit more eh?
  20. Couple of points I disagree with. 1-I also remember that being there aim, the problem I have with this is that as an aim it simply isn't plausible to do that in the second tier of Scottish football. What are the maximum values clubs at this level have gotten for players? We got 250ish for Nisbet, I beleive that's similar to what Ayr United were offered for Shankland and potentially what they got for the striker last year. A goalscoring striker at those levels is probably the most valuable player you can get and you're lucky to get a quarter of a million. Now, where you might then get your real money is with your sell on clause, but f**k me that's risky. 2)I'd strongly disagree with the term "fans want success yesterday", the Germans first got involved just after we finished 4th in the Championship, were now a few years down the line and the best we can hope for is 4th in the Championship. On the park it would be kind to say we've stagnated, the reality is, as Raith has shown is that providing you have some external investment it really isn't complicated to go from a lower end championship club, to title challengers. 3)I also agree that the owners aren't sinister, what I would say though is that while there intentions might not be bad, we are about to post a massive lost, and we're on course to post another next year. The shareholders at that meeting would've been around when Masterton was telling everyone we were fine, I'm OK with people asking how sustainable we are.
  21. I was going to go to this when I lived in Dundee. Me and the wife were trying for a little one at the time, so she took a test which came up positive. Looks cracking!
  22. Aye, I was born in Hong Kong, and support Dunfermline, and my little guy was born in Dundee* and he's going to support the Pars, unlucky wee man. *We were moving down to Fife the same day, convinced the wife went into early labour to avoid unpacking/packing the house.
