I imagine there's a spaghetti-western style wagon train of creditors waiting to pounce on the money as soon as it leaves the Dens car park. Massone won't see a penny- and this "unity" chatter is too little, too late.

MacDougall is being talked up as a viable alternative on Livi lions and apparently made a good impression at the protest on Friday. Why on earth he wants to buy into Livingston is anyone's guess, I suspect he could do with one of Duncan Freemason's headscans. It's rather like a new captain taking over at the bridge just as the ship, in flames, capsizes and sinks.

The question is whether Livingston are allowed to enter admin now- which leaves MacDougall and the Trust in a strong position as the only likely interested party to take over- or whether liquidation is forced through, with the only option left to a few diehards (MacDougall will vanish in this scenario) to restart in the East of Scotland seniors, like Gretna have done.

What on earth is Gordon thinking about ? I do hope he comes to his senses before he gets his fingers badly burned.

The SFL are even more incompetent than the SPL. Given that the SPL deliberately threw away about a quarter of a million quid to the Gretna administrators to simply keep the club on its feet last season, then the SFL will do a similar (but non financial) favour to Livingston by turning a blind eye to what is going on. They are as weak as dishwater with stuff like this. They will "monitor the situation" and pray that it all goes away.

That Massone has run the club in such a slipshod manner, treated staff and creditors like shit, lied to everyone he comes into contact with, end up with all sorts avoidable debt and has got himself on the wrong side of the law but still be able to schmoo his way around the country with no real impact upon his life will tell him he is working in a land of very stupid people.

As long as he gets away with it, he'll keep doing it. That he still has a few people backing him up in the hope that he'll wake up tomorrow and change his ways, must make him laugh. He'll have learned that the capacity of people to be complete dumbasses knows no bounds.

If there's lead on the stadium roofs, it'll be gone very soon. If he sold and dismantled one of the stands, I'm sure there would be some who would believe him if he said it had been taken away for dry cleaning, and it would be coming back on the 30th of June.

This post sums the situation up perfectly - does the SFL have authority do do anything or do they just wait until more people get ripped off?

My son was close near to Almondvale yesterday so he went along to look at the Livi protest "from a distance". He reckoned there was "about five or six dozen" people there. I guess it's a start. He said it was all very quiet, and that there were a few journalists around, so he reckons it'll receive a decent amount of publicity.

Now comes the "difficult second album". Keeping energy (and interest) levels up is the difficult part. It actually might take another bit of Massone madness to make that happen, or it actually might require the club to fall into administration.

At that point, opinion will divide. I am personally torn between sympathy and support for the people, and a thorough dislike for the football club. I'd be in that place where the club folding and disappearing forever would seem to be a fair and just outcome for an outfit that has never ever played with a straight bat, and part of me wanting the supporters (who finally seem to have cottoned on to what they rest of us have been saying for years and years) to have a decent outcome. If they survivve, then unpractical as it seems, Livingston FC should never be allowed anywhere near a credit facility for at least a decade.

Good post but you have to feel for the supporters and the players - they shouldn't have to go through this.

Doubt it's fraud but it is immoral and daft. How's Masonne supposed to expect local businesses to get behind the team when he's effectively just shafted the businesses that are his club's tennants?

The quicker they get put into Div3 or kicked out altogether the better.

What are the SFL doing? - have they all gone on holiday with their MP's???
