Given the performance of Celtic, Rangers and Now Hearts in Europe then it’s obvious that the experiment of their B Teams in the Lowland League has been an abject failure.
From next season, they should be installed into the SPFL Championship so they get an appropriate level of competition.
The Lowland League have done their bit to try and improve Scottish players and now time for the SPFL and SFA to do theirs.
Sarcasm doesn't work well in print.

Ach, lads, not only are we fighting relegation, but we're now also the worst Sons team in 50 (FIFTY) years:
Where do these people come from?! I've been watching shite Dumbarton football for years and yet the verdicts are always worse online than in the flesh. What's the quote "y'all are getting too comfortable saying things online you'd never say to someone's face..."
I've seen more than one 6-0 defeat.

Hopfully we play well,
Just to note, we haven't won away to Dumbarton since a 4-1 win March 2001, also the only time we have ever won at The Rock since Dumbarton moved thereAway win, then.

Highlights really tell the story of the game. Interested in @pleslie99 thoughts on the first yellow for the full-back who was sent off. In real time I thought it looked a bad challenge, but watching it back I actually think he's unlucky to be booked.
It looked to me that the he was always going to take the Dumbarton player's standing foot. By the rules I think that's a foul.

Indeed. It was one of my favourite grounds - at least until it was ruined by that huge wall behind one of the goals.

Well my grey matter seems to be working a lot better than yours. Bonnyrigg Rose were drawn at home to Dumbarton and drew nil-nil. Tour goalkeeper was the Man of the match. The replay at Dumbarton on 7th December 2016. It pissed of rain the whole game and “The Rose” scored the winner through a magnificent 20yd strike from Adam Nelson in the 84th minute.
The Rose were a Junior football club at the time and an away victory for a junior club against a Championship club maybe a record that the Rose cherish and embarrass Dumbarton.
That embarrassing defeat may be the reason it it unrecorded in the Dumbarton archives.
C’mon The Rose
You obviously missed the sarcasm in the original post.

Byrne player of the month and Farrell manager of the month.
That's the unbeaten run gone, then.

Suppose you all think it's funny that we're about the only thing stopping you from visiting Huntly next season.
I don't know. We could always get them in the Cup.

I am now finding it difficult to sustain the pessimism and scepticism decades of supporting the Sons has ingrained in me.
I'm not.
(I'm probably much older than you though.)

Here’s a couple of questions. Has Dumbarton FC ever, at any point, led a league by 8 points? Have we ever won 6 league games in a row? Does anyone know?
We almost certainly have won 6 in a row at some time. Maybe 1971-2? And there was that season in the bottom division, 2008-09, we won 2-0 how many times in a row before trouncing Elgin 6-0 and then beating Annan away?

Nah, Chisholm was a player who had an impact and who I liked. The others I named were all forgettable dross.
Fair enough.

You should interview the true superstars:
Fergus Tiernan.
Robbie Winters.
Paul McLeod.
Paul Maxwell.
That guy from St Pat's who played up front in the first game of the season away at Airdrie.
Chissy, surely?

He really does if there’s any truth in that. I dislocated my shoulder landing on a hard wood floor while playing fives, all I said was “f**k” on impact, followed by “I think I need to go to hospital” as I stood up. Not a tear in sight.
You're a hard man, son.

When did we last score 4 goals in a league match?
I am aware its probably not that long ago but us handing out pumpings isn't something that happens very often. And with the turgid pish we have endured the last few years its a welcome change
We beat East Fife 5-0 in September last season.

Main thrust, we need fundamental change, we get found out big time in Europe.
Maybe we're just not as good as we like to think we are. We have no entitlement to good results in Europe. None at all. That we had some in the past was probably an anomaly.
We're a small nation on the northwest periphery of Europe and we haven't invested in grass roots football for decades.
Take a look at Iceland for example. Training facilities that can be used year-round. even in an Icelandic winter.
Now that money is all that talks in elite football our cash starved game just can't compete. Don't expect it to.

Annan were the last team to beat us in this division when they won 2-0 at the Rock on 21st March 2009. Can they do it again or will the Sons win the first three games in a season for the first time since 1959?
Discuss.
I think you've just answered your own question.

We can't be signing him at all. I loved the big man when he was with us but this can't be the signings we're making at this stage in the season. A free agent in a crisis, yeah okay I can understand it but we'd have been better getting Robert Jones back if this is the avenue we're going down.
Surely I have now entered a parallel universe.
